In a little cafe, just the other side of the highway…
It wasn’t really a cafe, it was a diner. But that’s not how the song goes.
Then again, in the song, it was “the other side of the border”, but there’s no border here. Just highway.
Have I lost you, yet? I’m confusing myself. Nevertheless, the walls of this cafe/diner on the other side of the border/highway are decorated with a potpourri of items, that to me, seem to have no rhyme or reason. Yet I love to eat there, always looking for what’s new in wall ornaments. As you enter the building you see a couple of paintings. Then you see a myriad of trinkets, signs, bottles, and what-all-else hanging everywhere. It’s hard to eat without spinning your head, Linda Blair style – well almost Linda Blair style. (are you to young for that reference?)
The wall paintings are pretty cool, but the artist made at least one error in each picture. Can you guess what they are?

I want to go to that café! And I’m not too young for the Linda Blair comment. I recently complained to my 26-year-old son about the almost circular angles of a local intersection where I have to do an exorcist-thing with my head to see if it’s safe to turn. He understood my reference, but I was surprised.
Yay! Reference not wasted
You should see the yummy salad I had. Maybe there’ll be a salad post
Oh, I like these kind of places with wacky decor. A salad post sounds good to me.
Maybe someone will throw out the salad gauntlet
.
i love the image of the tables, chairs, accessories in the diner! it’s been years since i’ve been in a restaurant like that – quite the change from palm-thatched open-air restaurants!
looks like a great place, and i’ll bet their menu is nice as well!

Palm-thatched, open-air sounds great to me!
.
Funny, I have a picture of the menu. I should have included that, but it wasn’t on a wall
The place looks interesting,I enjoyed the video clip,I’ve never heard of the group before, maybe it is because I’m in my thirties,
Ok. Now you’re making me jealous. 30′s! What’s that?
it was a fun song. There were a lot of them in ‘the day’.
Thanks for the comment and visit, matron.
You are very observant – no I cannot pick up the mistakes…I will have to watch this space
Check Genevieve’s response. I can never get anything by her!
. Maybe because we’ve known each other for over 50 years!
Thanks for stopping by again, melouisef. (Louise?)
Cool walls. I would eat there every day. Not salad. I see spelling mistakes. Omelet. Juicy. Vaudeville. Capitol. What else?
I think that’s it, except maybe Planter’s and Lowe’s might need apostrophes (am I even spelling THAT right?!) and for us to go there, I would need to investigate the macs and cheese situation.
Loved the music clip, but never heard it before. maybe I’m too old.
Love the look of that diner, but I can’t find the mistakes.
Nobody’s older than me! Lol. No. I was probably just a geek in the 60′s. Use to lock myself in my room and hold up my hairbrush ‘microphone’ and sing into the mirror. See? Geek!
Check Genevieve’s reply. She doesn’t miss a trick.
i did notice the spelling, but thought it was just American spelling.
Who knows? Maybe there are variations on the theme.
very cool diner…love those type of places, certainly don’t get “bored” waiting for your food
Haha! Not a chance!
Great walls, Gemma!
Good food too!
Thanks, RT.
I get it
Cool!
i love it.. that diner looks so cool. i so wanna go.^^
Haha! You’ll need to travel to Jersey
Thanks for the visit, kz.
A cool and interesting place. My head would spin too if I am surrounded by such wonderful stuff. Great post!
Haha! Thanks. Wish you could visit, but thanks for stopping by here
.
Love the fun search-and-find you added to this post. Like a little game!
I’m just a puzzle kinda gal.:-)
I am having trouble leaving this post. i love the song…played it a few times already…and those walls…how cool. I did the same thing…singing to the hairbrush. When Elvis was playing i would dance bouncing over beds and chairs, hairbrush in hand…such a geek…so much fun
So I’m not alone with this activity
. I learned a lot of words to songs that way.
Thanks for commenting, Jo. You made me smile.
As did you for me…oh and Chevvy’s lump is a lypoma…so good news. Going to put it in my post later.
I looked it up. Benign tumor.
Yes. Good news! Let’s sing a song of joy!
Interesting wall decor.
And good food, too.
