It seems what makes me happiest lately is blogging, posting, and photography. I’m one of those people that’s been looking for some kind of hobby, interest, or talent that will keep me occupied and smiling while I’m doing it. I’ve tried Music: accordion (not MY idea!), piano, organ, guitar, mandolin – Art: drawing, painting, sculpting – Crafts: beading, flower arranging, stained glass – Do you get where I’m going with this. I’ve tried and maybe not failed as much as lost interest. After so many attempts, it’s become increasingly depressing, thinking that maybe I’ll never have the stick-to-it-ness to find something I could enjoy and, some day, get really good at. Enter WordPress. Now, I have found happiness. Writing and photography. I played around with stalking a – ah – stalk. Specifically, a Black-Eyed Susan (I think), that’s growing randomly all over my front yard. This is a slide show of her progress over the week or so that I captured her growth, each a.m. and p.m. Click on the first Susie Q for the slide show to begin.
I hope you all find lots of happiness, just like me. If you need some help doing this, visit Island Traveler’s Weekly Challenge to see what gets some other bloggers happily blossoming.
Thanks, Island Traveler…
Such an exciting version of “Happiness.” Black Eyed Susan Rocks. I think it may be the same flower blossoming all over HOuston’s countryside, beautiful and radiant like sunshine. I saw myself in your passion for blogging. My wife would ask me, “What are you getting from blogging?” I said, “It makes me happy, just like facebook makes you happy.” Blogging makes me feel that I’m alive inside. That I can express and hope to make a difference. And as we all know, we have an amazing , supportive blogging family with WordPress and for that I will always be thankful. These we all share when you said, “It seems what makes me happiest lately is blogging, posting, and photography.” Indeed we all are. Have a wonderful day.
To those that don’t do it, they might not understand. Facebook is a good analogy. I wish there were 48 hours in a day where before 24 was just enough. 🙂 I’ve become more grateful, somehow.
Certainly a different interpretation. great pictures. 😉
Thanks. Family and friends top the bill, but, I decided to save them for the word LOVE. 🙂
could not agree more. ditto. 😉
Such an amazing slide show! Those are the exact stunning, beautiful flowers that Cupcake would flop down on top of and roll around in. It’s a good thing she didn’t visit the week you were working on this. Half of the pictures would’ve had her face in them!
Great post!
Her face would have added, not deterred? 😀
Nicely done, Gemma! 🙂
It does really make me happy. Go figure 🙂
I understand your ‘what is my talent’ quest as it is the same as mine. I like to think of it as Jill of all Trades, Mistress of None. But I’m okay with that, and you likely are too.
Thanks, Margie. I needed that 🙂 thanks for the visit.

Glad to read you have found your niche. Blogging makes me happy too – and what a pleasant surprise this has been.
Thanks for stopping back, Colline. It is fun, but sometimes I have trouble keeping up! I need a system!!! 🙂
What a great series of photos. That certainly takes stick-to-it-ness!
Thanks, Naomi. I’m a complete novice, but I’m loving this photography thing. Thanks for the visit.
