Jake, at Jakes Printer, suggested the subject of black and white for this week’s Sunday Post. OK, maybe there are hundreds of these out there, but it was the first photo I thought of when I read Jake’s post.
Here, from the Cape May Zoo, in the city of the same name, New Jersey, is my initial idea for black and white. Surprised? I think not.
Also appropriate for the challenge, and always in my thoughts, three generations of black and white.
Right to left: my husband, grandson, and son.
AND
This because it was already black and white, with a touch of red 🙂
Thanks for the challenge, Jake. To get a more in-depth look at black and white, visit Jake’s site. You know the drill. Click on the dragon. (color edited for this post only :-))
very nicely done.
Many thanks. 🙂
Zebra – perfect.
How could I not ?:-)
Thanks.
I love the zebra. It was NOT the first thing I thought of. Black and white pictures are usually pensive, intense, and moody – not in a bad way, but anyway, yours are cute and cheerful.
You know me. Cute and cheerful are my two middle names. Haha!
Good choices my friend ,Thanks for sharing your stunning photographs 🙂
Thanks for the opportunity. I was sorry the dragon didn’t fly anymore after I turned him b&w, but I’m too much of a computer moron to know what the problem is. Back to purple and blue next week 🙂
Thanks Gemma 🙂
Oh clever Gemma…love these and that you turned Jake’s logo B&W
Thanks! Except I stopped the dragon’s flight! Duh!
Lovely! One needs a little color now and then!
I’m a very earthy kind of girl when it comes to color, but you’re right. A splash now and then dont hurt :-)!
Stunning and beautiful. My favorite is the photo with the 3 generations of the people who are most dear to you. Priceless!
I LOVE that shot. Thanks, IT.
I especially appreciate the second one!! Sweet.
If I were to have a contest, I think that one would win :-).
Thanks for returning.
Hard to say which of these three is more delightful.
The zebra made me exclaim at your cleverness.
The family are just wonderful, tenderly captured.
And that funny funny bird — my first thought was, s/he’s wearing glasses and smoking a cigar!
Why thank you, T2T. I’m delighted that you liked them all. 🙂

Great images… Love them… 🙂
Thanks, Bams, and thanks for dropping by and commenting. 🙂
Funny! I had some photos with predominantly black and white in that I thought about sharing too, but I got so engrossed in tinting things… Never even noticed Jake’s logo till Jo pointed it out. You’ll be sent to the naughty corner!
I just thought it would be funny, but I was annoyed that I couldn’t figure out why Mr. Dragon won’t fly. So tech challenged. :-(. Some people need a personal trainer. I need a computer guru. Come to think of it, a trainer wouldn’t be a bad idea either. 😉
Beautiful pics! I loved the zeebra! 😀
Thanks, ioanna. It seemed logical 😀
I love your photographs, Gemma! That shot on the beach is timeless. And that duck’s color is awesome 🙂
Thanks, Iñigo. That was a fun day at the zoo with that duck. 🙂
Really sweet!
Thanks, Naomi. 🙂 good seeing you again 🙂
Well done on the theme, Gemma. Love your black and white (and red) photos. 🙂
Thanks, AD. It’s not something I do often. Kind of like it. 🙂
