Foliage. You’d think it would be easy. Where’s a tree when you need one?
These are some of the photos I took the last few days. I wanted new material, but I guess the good stuff isn’t going to ‘blossom’ for another week or two. I hope you get some enjoyment out of these.
The first on is in front of my humble abode. I love the way just a concentrated part of the giant green tree is gold.
This is a long shot of the same tree.
Forgive the dried up old branches at the base of the tree. The were picked up the next day :-).
The next two feature the side of the house. This is starting to sound like a real estate ad. (which, by the way, if you’re interested…)
Close up of the tree in the above pic.
Facing the front of the house, this is the view through the pretty gold leaves.
And I found three trees the park nearby. These poor things have no foliage :-(.
I just didn’t want to neglect them. 🙂
Don’t leave til you see these leaves at wheresmybackpack. Thanks, Ailsa, for another fabulous challenge.
Love it! And Iove the purple foliage on that one tree!
I know. Right? It’s gorgeous. Pink for a minute in spring and then, BAM !
Love your foliage, Gemma, especially the pink tree. Glad you didn’t miss out those poor hacked ones. I’m sure they’ll ‘spring’ into life again soon. 🙂
Hope ‘springs’ eternal. 🙂
Some great pictures and collection of foliage.. I like the lilac colours if that it is right..;)
Lilac sounds good to me, Gerry. 🙂
Thanks!
Beautiful foliage. The grees with the yellow golds and the yellow with greens and purple red. You truly have the gift to capture something amazing . Have a great weekend.
Nature is chick full of great colors, no?
Thanks, IT. 🙂
So many colours! Just gorgeous.
Thanks a heap, Georgia. :-). It is a pretty time of year.
For someone with supposedly no ‘ready foliage’, I was most impressed with your selection! Best shots in my book are of the yellow/gold branch in the green tree, especially the close up shot.
I saw that when I was backing up into my driveway and I had to slam on the breaks. 🙂 Thanks for the return visits, Madoqua.
When those leaves turn gold they really turn GOLD! They are not messing around with a halfway commitment. Now if the rest of the tree could just get on board! Looking through the gold to the other tree is just having a good eye!
Thanks, Gen. I’m thinking they’ll be on the ground before the whole thing turns gold. Then I get to have fun raking :-D.
I adore the heart-shaped leaves. So pretty! You have a lovely neighborhood. 🙂
Why thank you, Angelia. 🙂
Hi Gemma, I live in a part of the country where foliage doesn’t change much so I really appreciate the photos!
Sorry to hear that, Cathy. That means you miss out on the raking too ;-).
i’m impressed that the three ‘dead’ trees were left standing.. they are so important for many bird species.. i also pictured a huge hammock strung between two of those trees!
z
A hammock! What a great idea. Right in the kid,e of the park. Haha! FUN!
🙂
I love the color of fall foliage. 😉
It’s the raking that I’m still debating about. Is it great exercise? An excuse to take in some fresh air? Fun? Or not. Depends on the mood I’m in, I suppose. 😉
I hear you… I’m not big on raking and because we several large trees, the debris requires more effort than we care to give it… So we use a landscape company to haul it all away… 😉
I AM the lawn service. 😆
