The WordPress Challenge for this week is Renewal. I researched a few definitions of the word because so many things come to mind. These are some of what I found.
to make like new : restore to freshness, vigor, or perfection – Like restoring or ‘renewing’ a room.
Yes, that’s me. Helping with the demolition of my son’s bedroom. In the process of renewing…
Then there’s:
to make new spiritually – Depending on your beliefs, this could mean different things to different people.
Surround yourself with positive thinking, Mirth and Motivation, and inspiration – exercise for both the body and the soul.
And then we have these:
to make extensive changes in – rebuild
to begin again
Renewal that brings to mind the recent destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy at home in New Jersey, as well as New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. There’s much to be done, but with fabulous attitudes, good spirits, and great neighbors, friends, and strangers alike, it will all be rebuilt and renewed. Maybe better than new!
Here is my hope. No matter what you’re working on, whether it be rebuilding, restoring, replenishing, or renewing, that your success is as great as your mind could ever imagine.
If nature can succumb to the changes in the weather and then be renewed once again to it’s original beauty, then we can learn from her and do the same.
to become new or as new

The hurricane-damage images remind us to be thankful if we have a warm home, and a roof over our head. We are also reminded to pick up the pieces and march forward when life presents obstacles. Very nice post for ‘renewal.’
So true.
Thanks for stopping by. I appear to have done something wrong and there are pictures missing. I hope I can figure this out and “renew” my post!
Love this positive post, Gemma. May all the reconstruction on those damaged properties go really well.
🙂
I like the thought of renewal. These are great examples. Lord knows there’s lots of renewal needed in a lot of places right now.
Yeah. And now they want to renew our taxes! Can you stand it!
Perfect post for this week´s “Renewal” theme, Gemma.
Good luck with your renovations 🙂
Thanks, Marianne. Twice :-).

Very appropriate entries for the challange.
Aside from that, my wife and I are struck with the devastation the US NE coast has received from Sandy. We know someone in Virginia who is collecting goods and supplies for those hardest hit. She’ll be heading up the NY soon with supplies. We might be sending her some stuff.
I’m glad to see that you’re in better straits.
So nice of you and your wife, Allan. So many in need. And the thanks for your ‘gladness’ :-).
I bet your son will have an awesome, remodelled room soon. It’s an inspiration to see you passion for creating things and for finding “Zen” in your life. I too am into finding inner peace and Zen. It seems hard sometimes but all worth every effort. Great post. Have a blessed week…with lost of renewing possibilities.
My son’s room is coming along nicely. As far as ‘finding’ zen, well, haha, I’m still looking. But it’s the journey, right? 🙂
restoring or ‘renewing’ a room – is my wife’s favorite weekly action!
I’m new at this. If you and your wife weren’t so far away, I might be recruiting you. 🙂
That photo of you holding a hammer – my favorite!
Thanks, Iñigo. All that’s missing from this photo is a car 🙂
Impressive building work, Fabulous! I am hoping for some renewal here to, in some way or the other.. 🙂
Good luck, Bente. Most, if not all renewal, can be a fun adventure.
I don’t know if I could take on a project like your son’s room. The yoga zen corner is more my speed. But what lovely ways to define renewal! I caught Superstorm 2012 on the History channel tonight. My goodness. Really and truly unbelievable. I was so busy in the aftermath rearranging flights, I missed a lot of the coverage and had no idea.
I’m more like and apprentice when it comes to demolition, construction, and renewal, but happily, I enjoy both the room fixin’ and the Zen corner. Hurricane Sandy? What a witch!
I’m impressed by your project…. and touched by your mentioning my blog. TY for the gift of a late night surprise. 😉
Your blog is most certainly an inspiration. Thank YOU! 😀
Very nice, photos and maybe especially text. Food for thought here.
Yay. Food!
Sorry :-D. Got carried away there.
Thanks, T2T.
“… as great as your mind could ever imagine” — Love, Love it!
Thank you a bunch, Amy. 🙂

You should see that room now. What a little paint will do. 😉
