During this festive of all occasions, two neighbors have a friendly rivalry concerning Christmas decor and who can display more. Each year, for as long as I can remember, they have added to the light display on their lawns, one trying to outdo the other. It’s all in fun, but I can’t help thinking “what about the electric bill!” I suppose the priority here is fun, and bringing joy to the hundreds of families, especially the children, that drive down this brightly lit street each December. It’s my understanding they start working on their displays in October! I can’t even THINK about Christmas while I’m handing out Halloween candy, but hey! To each his own.
To all of you, from all of us, have a very festive holiday. Enjoy the lights!

So your neighbors are a bit out of control, eh? Lol! The flying reindeer above the house is really amazing!!
The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s a Christmas miracle 😆
stunning! and so is the electric bill, prolly lol ^^
I know, right. But, hey, once a year 🙂
Thanks for the visit, kHz.
The decorations look wonderful. I miss this kind of festivity this year.. there just aren’t many displayed around my place this year.
😦
I will share mine with you.
The Grizwolds have nothing on these two! They take over-the-top to a new level 50 times higher than the top!! Yikes. The 3 candles in my front window can’t compete.
These pictures don’t do it ANY justice. I’m surprised anyone around there can get any sleep! It’s like day time – and the traffic! Oh man! Sometimes a little goes a long way and is the way to go 😉
OMG Gemma…that is amazing. I hope they turn them off at night or it would be difficult to sleep…

Haha! THANKS!
A foreign visitor to Canberra told me this week that we don’t have many decorations here and it doesn’t really feel like Christmas (also because it’s HOT). I think your neighbours more than make up for our shortage of decorations! They’re great photos, Gemma.
As much as I’m not a big fan of cold, I don’t know how I’d feel about a HOT Christmas. Still, it’s the reason, not the weather, right. If you need some lights, just drop back for another peek. :-). I’ll share.
Really, really festive! I love the lights!
Pretty cool, huh? 😀
Oh, wow! Lights the shines with all the colors and joy that is all “Christmas.”
It is absolutely brilliant and so neat to look at. Some people really get into it, huh? 🙂
