You take a tree – maybe one with what looks like a thermometer in it’s belly 🙂
Cut it down – sort of like this
And maybe end up with something like this.
Cee, @ ceephotography.com, is hosting a challenge pertaining to the Chinese 5 Elements. This week’s entry is to be all about wood. I know I posted an eagle for Cee’s Metal Challenge, but there seems to be a theme around our house. Jeff is an avid history buff and our house is filled with Civil War photos, American Flags – of the wood, metal and fabric variety – and, of course, American Eagles. All these gorgeous birds seem to have a menacing look in their eyes, but they are magnificent – wooden or otherwise.
Visit Cee’s for more about wood, and the Chinese 5 Elements.
Yes, teacher – Good lesson in sequencing – and math. First, next, then and the 1 plus the 1 equals the 2. With a whole whole WHOLE lot of talent in between. So cool.
Thanks, Gen! Math and you’re still complimenting me! So cool ❤
i love the keyhole tree, and of course the amazing sculpture!
Thanks, z. 🙂
That eagle sculpture is amazing!
My husband is a big fan :-). Thanks, Jen.
Nice sequence, Gemma. That eagle is almost worth cutting down a tree for. 🙂
I worried about that when I wrote this. I am not a proponent of tree killing. But the eagle is beautiful and was a gift from a great guy (step-son).
Thanks, ad.
love the “thermometer” tree
Haha! Thanks, J&M. But it’s no Van Gogh ceibo. 😉
I love how you saw a thermometer in that tree!
It was the first thing that I noticed about it. 😉
Good to see you back, sharechair.
Beautiful display of wood for this challenge!! Simply perfect!
Appreciate it, Cee. 🙂
Carpentry by numbers?
Kind of like how I paint :-).
Love the thermometer! Very observant!
Thanks, Tamara. I kind of surprised myself. 😉
It does look like a thermometer. Tree’s can be so organic and artistic all on their own.
Very nice perspective on the challenge.

Thanks you, Isadoa. I liked yours as well. Both equally.
I’m amused by the eagle – I’ve found an eagle once on the beach:

Now that photos amusing! What a find!
Beautiful post for Cees challenge Gemma .Thanks for sharing my friend.
Thanks, Jake. 🙂
They are all cool Gemma, but WOW on the tree
I thought that tree was pretty WOW too. Thanks, Jo. 😀
The tree – what a find! And I think it’s cool how you went a step further and sequenced the pictures like that. Neat.
Why thank you! I love that you think so and that you came to visit! 🙂
That tree looks so much like art… I love it. 🙂
Yup. I thought it was pretty cool. 😉
Thanks, Eliz.
You got me at the thermometer tree. FABULOUS!
Haha! Thanks 🙂
