An old building. Boarded windows. Caution tape. A story behind the boards. Who lived here? Were there children? A dog? Maybe two.
Jeff and I have driven by this place hundreds of times. It intrigues me. Maybe some day I’ll be brave (crazy) enough to slip under the caution tape. But for now, I’ll have to get by on a lingering look.
Throw caution to the wind and stop by Dawn’s site, The Day After, for a peek through some very photogenic windows.
Funny how windows can be interesting because you can’t see through them! What are they hiding from us?
I don’t know but I’m very curious to peek inside 🙂
Houses have stories…and the windows are the eyes
Yes. I can think of so many scenarios. It is captivating! 🙂
Great ! I really like what you have done here …. there’s definitely as story to go with it 😉
If I could only focus and write it! 😦
haha we all feel the same sometimes 🙂
Children, no. Dogs, no. A witch, some black cats, ghosts, goblins, hideous monsters, and a lot of purple slime and cobwebs. Don’t look in!! Send an exorcist.
You should see it late at night. It really does look menacing. Oooooooooo…
I can see why you are drawn to it. Mysterious and exciting. Was there any history behind it. Looks scary when the Sun goes down. Have a great weekend.
I know nothing about it. Part of the intrigue, I suppose. It just fascinates me. You too, IT. Great weekend, that is :-).
I often look at boarded up houses … (many around here are old farms) and wonder the very same things as you. I can even ‘picture’ it in my mind, morphing back to when it was lived in with laundry on the line. 🙂
Laundry line! Yes! And an old junker way back behind the house. I hear you, sharechair!
A lingering look..I love that! 🙂
Thanks, Dawn 😉 and the is for hosting 🙂
Maybe you can check with the local history society. There must be a great story there.
Thanks for the suggestions, Judy. And, in summer it’s surrounded by many, Many, MANY of my friends – BLUEBERRIES!!!
Wow, such a great place for blueberries. I would keep the location a secret 🙂
😉
this ol’ house …
OH MAN, frizz! That suits this old house perfectly! I smiled all the way through that song. Thanks. Now I know the story behind those windows. 🙂
It does look a bit spooky, Gemma. Just think that once it was someone’s pride and joy. We’ve passed many such abandoned houses on our road trips, and I always wonder why.
Lots of reasons, I guess, ad. But it’s got a kind of je ne sais pas. 😉 No?
Absolutely.
This would make a great post for Hallowe’en, Gemma!
Spooky 😀

Spooky house! I can’t wait to see the photos when you finally find a way inside!!
That may not happen due to caution tape. Or maybe…
I like the long window. 😉
