In a little antique shop in New Hope, PA, off the beaten path, I found two old church windows. They’re not in the church of course. They are windows in the window. 🙂
Pretty, no? The owner is in the process of trying to find out which church these windows came from, so I don’t have that info, but I think they look good in the window.
Click on over to Dawn’s blog @ lingering visions for a peek into more on windows.
beautiful and unusual church windows
🙂
They look great. Are they for sale?
Yes they are. Wouldn’t they look great in a garden or a sun porch or wherever!
Beautiful! I wonder why they ‘left’ the church?
Ah…I’m not going there sharechair.
🙂
I love New Hope! I often stop there on my way to visit my son in Phoenixville! It’s the long way around but it is so worth the stop!
So worth the visit. Love New Hope. Nice ‘seeing’ you, Joseph. (Joseph is my son’s name, Lilly my mom’s 🙂 )
Oh, those are nice windows, Gem. Do I have time to go and linger with Dawn before I make the tea? The hell with it- I don’t feel like making tea anyway!
Thanks, Jo. Hope you enjoyed Dawn’s Place. Next time so both! 😉
Windows in the windows. What. What?? That hurts my brain. They are so so pretty. Are they for sale? How fun would it be to have a church window in the house?!
Yes they are and yes it would be very fun!
😉
the slow connection only loaded half of the photo, and the service is getting worse – typical of each day here.
it appears to be a lovely window, and i look forward to seeing all of it tonight!

Ugh! Hope things improve, z. 😦
when everyone goes to sleep in town, the connection gets much better!

YAY! Welcome back!

These are really gorgeous, Gemma. I don’t like to think that out here, is a church with missing stained glass windows. 😦
Sadly, the church might not be there any longer. When I go back I am stopping in to see if there’s an update. I hope I am not tempted to purchase. 😉
That is SOOOO cool! What a great find for this challenge. You win! (this week) 😉
Ha! Don’t kid me. I WISH there was a winner! Thanks, Dawn.
Lol…well if there was this would have to be it!
I wonder if they’re not even from a church. Some old mansions have been built with massive catherdral style stained glass windows.
I don’t know. They told me a church. I’m on it though. I will be checking when I return to the shop some day soon, I hope. Before someone scoops them up. 😉
P. S. I took a photo today, made me think of your work. I converted it to black and white and it is my interpretation of street photography. I hope I get the chance to show it here one day in a challenge. 😉
Yes, I’d definitely like to see it.
🙂
Church windows are not only beautiful and artistic but somehow looking at them inspires me to embrace my faith.
I’m glad to have inspired you in such a positive direction. 🙂 Enjoy the weekend.
such a large sized window is a real treasure…
I’d love to have them both!
Gorgeous! Look at all of those colors!
🙂
I can hear the choir…
😉
