This week, Ailsa @ wheresmybackpack challenged bloggers to contrast the weekly photo challenge color with a post about all things pale. I’m not much into pale, except maybe beautiful, milky, white skin, which I don’t have 😦 but this turned out to be the most fun. Below are a few of my pallid choices. Take heed of President Lincoln’s quote on the last shot. Words to live by – or at least words to give some thought to.

I use that rose/thorn quote and variations on it from time to time, but I never knew Abraham Lincoln said it. Thanks for teaching me something. And I really liked “paled with age”. Lol.
Thanks, Trish. I didn’t know it myself. That Lincoln guy was one smart cookie ;-).
Pretty shot of the Aqualegia (I think!), and how did you do that quirky trees over flower one? I thought it was cherry blossom till I saw it up close. You clever person, Gem!
Thanks, Jo. The overlay is from an app called PicShop. I used two of my own pix and used the edit and image layer option. If you do it, email me your shot. Or post it. I’d love to see it. 😉
Wonderful shots!
😀
Lincoln killed it with that quote. He was pretty smart. I’m 2 thumbs up on his pale saying. Cupcake is 2 paws up on the Canada geese. She eats the poop. Ugh. Now I’ve turned myself pale. *gulp*
Lincoln and killed it in the same sentence? “Double gulp”! But yes. He was a man of wisdom. 🙂
great post, especially love the tree over flowers
Thanks, J&M. 😉
Lincoln had a brilliant mind. I love that quote. That pale shell is a pretty interesting shape. 🙂
I love walking the beach. There’s always something that catches my eye. Lincoln? What a guy!
Quite different when looking at pale then colours!!
Yes. I like how Ailsa pulled off the contrast. Good thinking on her part. 😉
Interesting juxtaposition – color vs. pale. That must have been fun to play with!
That it was. 😀
Love that quote Gemma
Thanks, Jo. Abe was a pretty remarkable man.
And I appreciate all the ‘likes’.
That is so Lincoln. He had a number of those circular, dichotomic axioms like:
“You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
I think that’s his most famous saying.
Yes, I’ve heard that one. It also seems he had a great sense of humor. He would have been an interesting person to meet, for sure.
Pretty in pale colors! the ocean’s sand and everything else shines in the most beautiful way.
Who would have thought pale could be so pretty ;-).
Thanks, IT
Lovely gallery 🙂
Thank you. Maranto, is it? I appreciate your visit. I like the video on your blog. The little yellow chick, especially ;-). Too adorable with that questioning look on its face. Be seeing you…
Yes, and thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look around my blog, I appreciate it. That little chick is one of my favorites as well. Cheers!
😉
The seaside always has special pale understated images to capture . Lovely Gemma .
Thanks much, poppy.
