Little by little, it’s getting here. Spring! I can tell by the pinwheels on the lawn. What? Well I don’t know if this is an official sign of spring, but, when someone decides it’s time to put these colorful lawn decorations out, I’m guessing they’re telling us spring is just around the corner. When I saw this a month ago, I was thrilled. Spring! Yahoo! Finally!
Now, which corner was it that spring was around?
Mother Nature needs to get with it! She’s either sleeping on the job, or old man winter has her held captive. The news people threatened us with frost last night, and told everyone to bring in their plants. I don’t know who told them they make the rules, but I wore capris and a short-sleeved t-shirt today (and a soft, warm sweatshirt over the top of it all). Yes. I’m stubborn.
Just down the street from this house is a business district that also welcomes the season in with giant flower pots, painted by local artists. They’ve been doing this for some time now, so the pots are a bit worst for wear, but still – SPRING! There were too many for one gallery, so bear with me. I posted two. 😀
And…
I hope you’re enjoying your spring, if spring is what you’re having. If not, I hope this brought a little sunshine into your day. Please click on the icon below and stop over at Cee’s blog for a look at more of the spring season.
Thanks for visiting!
Spring being held captive sounds about right! The pinwheels and pots are all really intense and extreme to the max. I’ve seen a pinwheel or two now and then and a pot or two here and there. But never in such concentration. They’re awesome and colorful. Around here, there’s also a tacky flamingo or two popping up, but that’s just regional, I guess…..
I walked the street in this frigid weather to take those pix. Lol
Flamingos are more popular than you might think. Yikes!
I love the flower pots! I bought one yesterday (not beautifully painted like these of course but big). I am a terrible outdoorsman. No green thumb, whatever the opposite is, is mine. But I have cilantro growing on my front porch and decided I would plant chives in my big pot. And then..frost warning..WTH(h is for heck)?? I wish someone would paint my pot.
I suggest you paint it, Dawn. I’ll bet it will look awesome. Just go for it! I know you’ve got the talent. You are an arteest! 😉
Lol…I wish my grandsons lived closer…that would be cool!
The colorful flower pots are gorgeous! I love them! (:
Thanks! It does pretty up an otherwise plain stretch of road. 🙂
It was my pleasure (:
OOHH what wonderful flower pots!
Thanks, Marianne. I’m off to make ‘scrub’. I’ll fill you in later. Again thanks for the ‘recipe’. 😉
Here we now have winter but painted pots would certainly bring memories of spring. Great take on the subject.
Thanks. It feels like we are having winter here too! ;-). So cooooold
I love those flower pots!!
Thanks.
I love the ‘gestures’ post. Been using the five fingers to close and swish to move from app to app. LOVE IT! A real time and equipment saver.
These pots are WONDERFUL! Thank you for sharing them with us!!
It was a grueling walk but someone had to do it.
(You’re welcome)
What a cool and artistic entry. I love all those planters. Thanks for playing along, see you next week!
Thanks and I appreciate you hosting. 🙂
Love the pinwheels and the flower pots are fantastic. Gave me some great ideas for my flower pots. And I like pink flamingos. In the small coal patch town where I grew up, if you didn’t have a gazing ball and a pink flamingo or two, your yard was not complete. :0
I’m not sure but I think around these parts flamingos have gone from tacky to trendy. I’m partial to plants and bird baths. But things could change. 😉
Snazzy pots !
Snazzy! I like that. Thanks, poppy. 😉
wonderful paintings on your flowerpots! nicer than any spring could be!
😉
Love those flower pots, Gemma. They’ll look even more gorgeous when they’re overflowing with spring flowers. 🙂
Yup,yup. Things are taking a while to bloom around here 😦
It even looks like summer too mee. Colourful and nice.
Thanks. Not to complain to someone living in the cold but I’m still waiting for spring! 😉
The pinwheels certainly add a festive air to the garden. And I love the flowerpots you have captured.
Thanks, Colline. I had fun walking through town capturing these.
So cute! Those fairies are a little scarey, Gem, but I love take a pic 1 and the theatre. 🙂
I like the fairies but they could be cuter. Like bubble fairies. Ever see them? Google!
Yes, I know the ones you mean. Very sweet. 🙂
