TRAVEL THEME – MULTICOLORED

When you work (hang out) with a four year old, 5 days a week, you are bound to run into a little splash of color. And you get to play – A LOT!

I spotted the Bella balloon and couldn’t resist, since that was the alternate name I chose for one of Cee’s Share Your World questions this week.

And the last is a plug for The Garden State – why I don’t know since our taxes exceed most other states. Maybe if I advertise NJ enough, our illustrious governor will cut back a little. Ah. No. Probably not.

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – WHITE AND PURPLE

It appears that I don’t do much with white.  I need to work on that.  Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is all about white and purple.  I found some of the latter, and framed it in the former.  So…

This is my white around purple. 🙂

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2013 WEEK 31

Time to share.  I love this challenge!  Visit Cee’s blog and see more of what people have to share, but before you do that…

Here’s this week’s list of questions.

Do you push the elevator button more than once and do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?

I push multiple times.  Especially if the door doesn’t close.  Now if I was smart, I’d press the Close Door button. Hellllllllllloooo!!!

If you had the choice between an RV, a sports car, truck, SUV, or a bicycle, which would you choose and why?

I’ve had a number of vehicles.  Once I leased a Mercedes.  It was gorgeous and fun, but I felt silly in it so when the lease was up, I traded it in and bought a VW bug.  That’s more me.  I missed my chance when I had the Mercedes, though.  I’ve always wanted a Porsche.  Even if just to test drive.  I think I would have been taken more seriously at the Porsche dealer if I drove in with the Mercedes and requested a test drive than if I drove in with my 10 year old Volkswagen and asked for one.  This is my vehicle now. It was necessary to go “new”.  The 10 year old is in that big car graveyard in the sky.  (This one’s for Frizz.  I told him I would get it into a post.) 🙂

Anyway, my answer is Porsche. Phew!

If you HAD to change your name, what would you change it to?

I don’t know.  I like my name.  Without taking too much time to think, maybe Bella.

Is it more important to love or be loved?

Hmmmmmm.  If I had to choose one, it would be to love. If I had to chose.  What does John Cougar Mellencamp say, “hurts so good”.

ESE’S WEEKLY SHOOT & QUOTE CHALLENGE – LONELINESS

LONELINESS…

“Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell.”  ~ Edna St. Vincent Millay

At first it was difficult

But it got easier

TRAVEL THEME – HIDDEN

There’s a super park in Cherry Hill, NJ where I bring my little ‘charges‘.  It’s a quick stroll down the road a piece and makes for some pretty fun photo opportunities.  Apparently, the community has set up a garden in Barclay Farmstead.  I see people every so often, tending to their own little corner of their gardening world – straw hats on heads, tiny spades in hand.   This is the first year I’ve had the chance to see the flowers and veggies in full bloom.  Some are cared for more diligently than others, but it’s a fabulous site to see, nonetheless.  Last week I spotted, hidden among the flowers, the last of this seasons plump, juicy Jersey tomatoes.  I walked the perimeter to see if there was a way to get a closer look but, for good reason I suppose, there was a gate, and it was locked.  More than anything else that I could see, there were lots and lots of flowers.

Approaching the garden

Approaching the garden

Walk on…

Getting closer to those ripe tomatoes!

Getting closer to those ripe tomatoes!

I can’t get in!  But it appears that this guy, hidden in the flora and vegetation, did…

Hidden in the garden

Hidden in the garden

And now, he can’t get out!

Hidden in plain sight

Hidden in plain sight

His body language screams frustration!  I hope he at least gets to taste some of those rosy tomatoes.  Jersey has the best!

CEE’S WHICH WAY CHALLENGE – WEEK 8 – A WALK IN THE PARK

BARCLAY FARMSTEAD, CHERRY HILL NEW JERSEY

map of the woods

Last week was my first back to my ‘job’.  I am the caregiver for two bright, adorable, charming, rascals five days a week.  Since school hadn’t started yet, and since the weather is holding out – for now – we made a unanimous decision to walk to the park – so we could walk the park.  I can’t resist letting you in on a snippet of our conversation.  If this doesn’t make you smile, then I don’t know what will.  It went something like this…

Me:  Stop at the corner and wait for me, please.

Brother #1:  We need to stop, look, and listen.

Me:  Exactly.

Brother #1:  We need to not touch the wires (electrical wires that, in some cases, are brought down to the lawns and bolted in somehow – why on the ground I don’t know.)

Me:  You are absolutely right!  Why do you think that is?

Brother #1:  Momma says it’s because you’ll get dead.

Me: (smiling) And we wouldn’t want to get dead, would we?

Younger Brother: And because they are full of ‘lectrical kermits!

OK.  Do I have a great job or what?

OUR WALK

Decisions. Which way? They went right. I went left.

Decisions. Which way? They went right. I went left.

We are getting near the end of the path.  We talked about getting lost and what we would do if that happened.  Brother #1 was  not concerned.  Younger brother had found a very long stick.  Apparently, and according to Brother #1, it was a GPS stick.

The GPS Stick will guide us safely through the woods. Step back, Garmin!

The GPS Stick will guide us safely through the woods. Step back, Garmin!

It got us around and through and over and back.  We had the best time walking the woods in the park.  I hope you enjoyed a little of my day.  I know I do.  Every day!  How lucky am I? 🙂

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – AN UNUSUAL POV

I went out looking for a computer last week.  This was NOT the one I purchased, but  the computer techi-guy that runs this place has an unusual POV when it comes to equipment.  This piece of psychedelic funk was sitting in the window.  I clicked and moved on, but not without a smile on my face.

Actually, I’m not sure it’s a computer, but I’m sure there are not too many electronic bits of equipment like it.  Interesting POV or quirky kind of guy?

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2013 WEEK 30

Yet another post – all about me.  Here’s the next installment in response to Cee’s challenge, Share Your World.  You, my friend, should you choose to read on, get to learn more about little ol’ me.

Here we go…

If life was ‘just a bowl of cherries’… which fruit would you rather be..?

A bowl of blueberries blanketed in scrumptious whipped cream. image

If you could witness or physically attend any event past, present or future, what would it be?

I’d like to have physically been the first to set foot on the moon.  It was fascinating to watch on the tube (remember when tv was called the “tube”?), so to actually be the first person to do it would have been extraordinary.  To infinity and beyond – for sure!

If you could know the answer to any question, besides “What is the meaning of life?”, what would it be?

Why can’t we all get along? (Maybe just knowing the answer to that question wouldn’t be enough.  Still…)

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Green.  The color of grass and trees and avocado shakes.
