TRAVEL THEME – STONE

I have a collection of owls, of late.  It’s a fad.  I know.  But how could I not resist.  They have eyes that suck you in and beg you to take them home.  I’m sure, this fad will pass, but in the meantime, here is part of my collection.

STONE OWLS

I’ve been fussing with some apps.  Since Halloween is on the horizon, I thought I’d include these ghostly stones.  Happy Halloween – if you pay attention to that sort of thing.

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – HORIZON

The best seat in the house.  Taken on the fourth of July, these people had to have a most fabulous view of the fireworks over the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.  I, on the other hand, had a glorious view of the horizon.

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2013 WEEK 37

I missed a week.  SURPRISE!  Like I am ever able to keep up.  Oh well.  Here I am at week 37 so that’s what counts, right?

This week’s questions, brought to you by Cee’s Photography.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

I’m not a whole lot of ‘active’ anymore, but if I had to choose something I CAN do, it would be walking.  Riding my bike would be second.  If I knew how, it would be swimming.  And if I were able, it would be sky diving. (Just kidding! Or am I?)  Old(er) bones = limitations.

Do you prefer your food separated or mixed together?

OH LORDY! SEPARATED!  When I see people mix their peas with their mashed potatoes, I CRINGE!  When I see people mix their peas with anything, I cringe.  I hate peas!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

I’d love to live somewhere that is a combination of country, beach, and desert.  I really do love all of those options, so if anyone knows of such a place, let ME know.  Since I’m not a traveler, I don’t know what’s out there, but I’d like my home to have clean air, lots of sunshine, and wide open spaces.  OK.  I really don’t have ONE answer.  (See.  This is why I have trouble with these questions.)

What household chore do you absolutely hate doing?

I loathe vacuuming.  I even had to look up how to spell it!  (I also hate dusting, ironing, and washing windows.  I will not make the top ten Housewives of New Jersey)  😉

Now it’s your turn to join in the fun.  Click on the icon below to get to Cee’s Share Your World challenge.  Thanks for stopping by (again?)

TRAVEL THEME – BROWN

Monday through Friday, after stopping at my favorite Dunkin’ Donuts, I take a quick walk in order to pick my little 4 year old friend up from school.  He is a very inquisitive, interesting, and curious fella who points out a lot of what I photograph when we’re together.  Most of the time he wants to be in the picture.  Sometimes, not. I told him I needed ‘browns’ and we gathered these photos as a team.  I hope you enjoy our collaborated gallery of browns.

Please do stop over at Ailsa’s to take in a little more of the rich, beautiful browns she’s gathered from other bloggers.  Just click right here.

Thanks for the visit and stop on back.

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – THE HUE OF YOU

I don’t think there’s any one color that expresses me.  But the continually changing, constantly shifting patterns and colors of a kaleidoscope would define me to a “T”.  Moody?  No.  Fickle?  Maybe. Erractic?  I hope not.  I like to think of myself as cheerfully unpredictable.

TRAVEL THEME – DEEP

Still waters run deep

020

Apparently, the people at 1201 didn’t have the time to dig too very deep.

It’s time for goblins, ghosts, and ghouls to run deep into the night.  BEWARE!  With all the crazy decorations out there, you’re bound to get scared out of your wits!  So, before you get knee deep in zombies and the like, creep on over to Ailsa’s @ wheresmybackpack.wordpress.com and check out her challenge entries.  Click right here.  Yup.  Right there.

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – INFINITE

This week’s WordPress challenge – infinite.  Something rather unfathomable to me.  Enjoy.

CEE’S BLACK & WHITE CHALLENGE – CLOSE UPS/MACROS

“I decided that if I could paint that flower in a huge scale, you could not ignore it’s beauty.” ~ Georgia O’Keeffe

Georgia O’Keeffe did indeed paint HUGE fabulous flowers.  The colors were vibrant and there was no mistaking the paintings were hers.  Actually, she also painted some incredible black and white – which I didn’t know until now.   I wonder if she had painted my flowers, would they look something like this?

Personally, I think a flower dressed in any color is fabulous.

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2013 WEEK 35

I hate to have all this fun by myself.  Stop over at Cee’s blog and share your world.  But first, read All About Me.  ‘Cause, ultimately, my blog is all about me. 🙂

Question #1

Have you ever bungee jumped?  If you haven’t, would you want to?

Simple.  Never did.  Never will.  I am way too much of a baby to do that.  God bless you if you do.  Enjoy.  Have fun.  Let it be your excellent adventure.  Not me. Not now. Now ever! Next question, please.

Question – ah – next

For your computer Mac or Windows based computer?  Desktop, laptop, Pad or other?

Toshiba Satellite Laptop, Windows based. And, after having lost my iPad 2 last week, and going through the trauma (and still going through it) of someone rifling through my stuff, I am now using an iPad 4th generation.  Nice.  Very nice.  But I still have a knot in my stomach.  (Yes, I had a passcode, but still.  I just feel icky about someone using it.  I lost it on the street, after foolishly putting it on top of my car when I was unloading groceries.  Then drove off with it up there. I hope it got run over a million, trillion times before someone found it!)

Question #3

If you were instantly able to play one musical instrument perfectly that you never have played before, what would it be?

Guitar.  Definitely.  I’ve tried piano, organ, accordian (not my idea!  my parents – not that there’s anything wrong with that), mandolin, guitar – never really stuck to any one of them – dope!

Question #4

Describe yourself in at least four uplifting words.

OK.  Honestly?

1. Insecure (but working on it – that’s the uplifting part)

2. Honest

3. Trustworthy

4. (I’m stuck)  Ah – maybe friendly

OK now, your turn.  Go over to Cee’s and see what you can do about explaining yourself to us.  Click on the icon below.  Go on.  You know you want to.
