WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – GOOD MORNING

DD coffeeFriday morning, I walked into my favorite Dunkin’ Donuts shop for my much needed cup of coffee, like I do Monday through Friday.   I don’t need to order because they remember – medium black coffee, please.  I sit at the recently wiped table with my iPad and my java, and go about reading, commenting, and firing off posts.  Imagine how excited I was when I saw the WordPress challenge for this week – Good Morning.  I say this because this place is – five days a  week – the start of my “good morning”.

On this particular morning this particular coffee shop was being evaluated.  Well, I couldn’t let this opportunity go by.  I am always telling my family and friends, what a clean, friendly, comfortable environment the DD on route 70 has. Rekta is ready and waiting with a smile on her face and my coffee on the counter before I even get half way across the floor.  Raj, the manager, is constantly making sure things are clean and presentable to the influx of customers.  I sit, drink, blog, and watch for an hour 5 days a week.  This is the place to go for a great cup of coffee, a latte, muffins, and whatever all else you might want to devour, all in a clean and relaxing environment.  They are a part of my Good Mornings and I want people to know it.  So I hunted down the men doing the inspection and let them have it.  I raved about and applauded this place and the staff and told them I would blog about it.  I wanted to say something good, and positive, and kind and I wanted the proper people to hear it.  They seemed pleased.  I know I was.

The day before inspection, I took these shots.  DD’s  (201 Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, NJ)  was decorated from ceiling to floor – from wall to wall.  I’ve been going here for about 8 months now, and I gotta tell ya, these people are just as sweet as their frosted donuts!

The Staff – not everyone was there this day, but everyone is friendly and they all help make my morning good.

  1. What a great positive post, Gemma. Love the Halloween decorations and the smiles of the hardworking staff. 🙂 I just noticed your new sidebar ‘after’ pic. You make a very handsome couple. 😀

  2. What a beautiful post Gemma and it’s wonderful to see and hear of such friendly and charming people that brightens up your morning every day. Lovely photo’s of a lovely place hon. I am very glad you have great mornings there. 😀 *big hugs*

    • I am and thank you. I have off today so DD’s is off the list. But meeting a dear friend for lunch. We live far apart now so we take what we can get. This will be a good morning too.
Thanks for the good start. 😉

  3. great start to your mornings. It’s been a couple years since I’ve had a Duncan donut, are they still as good as I remember? It was great for you to tell the “suits” your positive thoughts. Years ago I worked for steak n shake and part of my job was to perform corporate audits (inspections). I was always appreciative when a customer gave me feedback, especially when they were positive. Have a great week amiga.

    • I guess they’re still good. My little charges love them. I just lick my fingers after reaching into the bag for theirs. Every so often I’ll treat myself to a bagel and THOSE I LOVE!
I hope it doesn’t fall on deaf ears. Not enough pleases and thank yous out there these days. Everyone is rushing around and in the wake, they forget how to treat people. That’s why I love blogging. More nice than not. Be well, amigos. Have a great week.

  4. Ya know. I’m trying to eat a spinach, pepper, and cheese omelet with honey wheat toast, over here. Protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals… Now all I can think about is DONUTS!! I love when people take ownership of their jobs and go above and beyond. Even better when other people notice and get the word out there. Well done, BFF. Well done, DD people. I want a donut…..

    • Tell me! I just smell them and move on. Love the coffee, but the j
Kids get the sweets. I shot my week’s allowance at our lunch today. Cheesecake? Come on! That was huge for me!
      Thanks, pal. xoxox

  5. How fortuitous all round then is this weeks WP challenge Gemma !
We get to see where you fire off your comments over coffee each morning 😉 … meet the staff … and see DD’s hallow’een decorations too .
    Have great week .

  6. What a nice tribute to those folks, Gem, and the Halloweenies had me hiding behind my chair. 🙂
I don’t really understand the concept of the morning coffee stop because I always like my coffee in my jamas (well, in a cup, really 🙂 ) with laptop on my knee. Haven’t graduated to iPad yet. When I’ve had enough coffee and laptopping I’m set to go embrace the world. What am I doing here? The sun’s out! 🙂

  7. Refreshing to hear of a place with such kindness in their hearts. Remembering orders and taking such care to decorate. I hope they got a good score. Thanks for sharing your little slice of morning. Sounds divine!

    • Just a fun way to start the day. I went there today and showed them the post. They were chattering, all delighted. I didn’t understand anything but I’m thinking they were grateful. 😉

  8. what fun Gemma…it seems odd though to this Kiwi that you go to get coffee…though I will admit it is becoming a thing here that people don’t have breakfast at home anymore but get it on the way to work

  9. Love this branch of Dunkin’ Donuts. They truly know how to celebrate Halloween and Autumn. We have one here but other than the yummy Pumpkin Spice Latte, it doesn’t have the festive visuals like in these pics. Have fun Fall season my friend.
