Without a doubt, these three met with an unexpected fate.
Lovingly placed out on the curb
With hopes that no one would disturb.
The Squirrels, they didn’t seem to care
They gnawed and chewed, oh the despair!
Upon my lawn, they’ll be no more
Reveling as my decor.
Til trash day this is where they’ll sit
Unexpected, they’ll admit.

GAH! Squirrels! I knew it! I love the poem, and the plan. Rocky had better get his fluffy self out there and scare the evil squirrels into submission.
He chases them all the time. They’ve been very, VERY lucky so far. I’m glad you like the poem. 😉
Living where I do, yet remembering where you live, I first thought, “Raccoon.” I flipped to this morning’s first view from the deck when I saw the Andean rug on the ground below (it was ‘airing’ one floor higher from the rail.) and it looked as if something had eaten a huge plug from the rug… I wondered, “What in the world?!” — hmmm. maybe I should write about this?!
I loved your post, and seeing the pumpkin, even one from the leftover buffet, made me smile!
z
Keep smiling! And if you ever run out, stop on by. I’d be glad to accommodate. 😀
Bet your porch looked great!
🙂
bet it looks ok from the street though.
Adds to the leafy carpets strewn about. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.
Ha ha. Cool poem!
For the fun of it, Trish. 🙂
Thanks!
Love the colour scheme of autumn leaves, golden hay bale and poor nibbled orange pumpkin. The poem fits the moment
The pumpkins didn’t have a. Hence this year. Squirrels everywhere! Thanks, P (aka gypsy.). 😉
Love your little poem 🙂
Thanks, Colline. 🙂
pesky squirrels get into everything!
Yes they do! Even phone and cable wires. Cra -ra- zee!!!
Yes and attics and crawl spaces. They got into my brother’s that way then chew in peace. He heard the scratching and found a nice little family. Luckily he found them before too much damage.
Ugh! They are out of control! 😉
🙂
Love the poem, poor pumpkins, lucky squirrels
Squirrels have all the fun!
Thanks! 😉
Priceless
😀
😉
P S Love your new ‘after’ photo!
Thanks!
Soon I’ll need a winter photo. UGH!
I thought that was a winter photo
Ahhh. No! We took that a few weeks ago. Fall. But maybe I can just leave it then. 😉
An unexpected Autumn surprise. I do still have my pumpkins too minus the bite marks. Wishing you and your family an amazing Thanksgiving .
And you yours, sir. 🙂
Lovely entry for the challenge Gemma and I wondered what would have happened if the monkeys were there. LOL!
Haha! Something similar, I would imagine. 🙂 Glad to see you back, Sonel.
I think worse Gemma..hehehe. Glad to be back hon. 😀 *hugs*
Oops!! Pesky little squirrels. They sure had some fun with your outdoor decor, Gemma. 😀
No respect, ad. 😉
Shocking!! 😯

Quite peace-filled., thank you. I hope you’re hospital stay was none too serious and that you are back pickin’ your fabulous tunes.
I didn’t even know squirrels ate pumpkins. Learn something every day, even an old geezer like me. 🙂
Haha! Old geezer. NO! And we should all try to learn a little something every day. That’s the wonder of blogging. 😉
That’s the wonder of life itself. 🙂
Yes?
Haha! You got me there. Yes!
