If you’ve been here before, then you’re probably familiar with Cee’s Share Your World. If you haven’t been here before, you’re in for a treat. 😉
Here we go…
Do you prefer to receive gifts or give them?
It’s a toss up. I have to be honest. I enjoy when I find the right thing to give to someone. Then I’m comfortable and happy. If I get gifts – YAY!
If you could be given ANY gift what would it be?
Again, honestly? Money. Lots of it. I would spread that around like peanut butter. Family, friends, charities. College funds. Pay off family mortgages. St. Judes. American Cancer Society. You name it. Now that would be a fun gift to receive AND give.
If you had a shelf for your three most special possessions (not including photos, people or animals), what would you put on it?
Books. At least three of them. 🙂 Besides family, friends, and my pets, nothing is really all that precious to me, except books.
Would you spend the weekend in an abandoned house in the forest?
I know I’d be scared out of my wits, but there’s nothing to lose there so… YES.
Have some fun with this. Go to Cee’s and join in the challenge. Click on the icon and Share Your World.
Spread it around like peanut-butter! (I love that) You and I are on the same page there.
🙂
What a fun post, Gemma. Wishing you lots of money to spread around. 🙂
Me too, ad. Me too.
I have all I need but not everybody does, sadly.
That looks like a wonderful abandoned house. I was thinking a little more broken down, but lets go for yours instead!!! Thanks!
Yeah. It might have a functional, ah, bathroom. 😉
You’re brave to stay in the abandoned house. I’d be afraid of that on a thousand levels. I hope my book would be on your 3-item shelf. I think my items would be my iPhone, a fresh flower, and an angel from my angel collection. I love Share Your World Day. 🙂
Are you kidding? Your book would be the first one on the shelf!

Yay! I made the cut! Thanks!
❤️
I really liked your response to ‘any gift’ – Money. Lots of it. You surprised me, saying you’d give it to anyone in need. You’re my kind of woman.
The 3-items-on-a-shelf question was odd when I thought about it – most of us would think of family and friends as the most precious things. We’d need a 6-foot high shelf for them!
Surprised? Oh my! I can’t believe everyone wouldn’t do that. I mean, how much do we need? I’m not saying I wouldn’t keep any, but I hope that everyone that hits the lottery for a whole lot of dough does the same. I just want enough to pay my bills and enough to keep me in Chocolate Chip Mint ice cream. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Trish.
Love to give gifts so I agree with your money answer so I could gift it away. Three items, would have to be a Bible, my xoom and a laptop. Have kindle on the xoom, can contact family on the laptop and for me, the Bible is the most important book in my house. Hmm , by myself in a house in the woods, Nope! Have read too many books on what can happen to you when you’re alone in the woods 🙂
Never heard of a xoom but sounds like fun. I’ve read books that tell about scary things that happen in the woods, but they wouldn’t happen to me. I’d have Rocky (my german shepherd) with me. 🙂
Bible. Yes. I agree. But I woudn’t want it to be lonely. 😉 Lots and lots of books.
OK, Gem, now this is a little more straightforward than some of the earlier ones. Giving or receiving presents – I’m very happy doing both, no question!
If the gift could be absolutely anything, then it would be my son.
Special possessions? Now that’s trickier! Maybe two books – A Bird Atlas of Kenya, the copy that I gave and inscribed to my mother; and the latest Blurb book of my images. And an old and mouldy Olympus OM-1 camera with a 50mm Silvernose F1.4 Zuiko lens, which was my virtually constant companion in Kenya, especially in the early days – and which is in a place of honour in our living room right now!
The abandoned house would be ok as long as, for this old man, there was some warmth – maybe a hot summer’s weekend would be best! Or quite a few bottles of Scotch to keep the cold out! The trick is in not fearing what’s lurking out there in the dark .. but that’s not difficult because I’ll know that it’ll be … me … 😉 ……….. spooky! …………
YOU? YIKES! 😉
Good answers, Adrian, but for this dope, what’s a Blurb book?
Yes me – YIKES AND MORE YIKES!!!
Because I hate the thought of my photos only being held in electronic media – ie here on my PC and off in the ether on my blog – I periodically assemble collections of my favourites from FATman Photos and (along with their captions) make them into real books – hard copies! – via the Blurb.com website, which works very well. I use their best (heaviest) paper, and now have made 10 or so of these books – and am giving 2 “specials” as presents this Christmas. I have often thought of making a Blurb book for you, but I would need either your address or that of a place which would hold mail for you, and Blurb would then send the completed book straight to you. If you have any thoughts about this, please email me, as I don’t catch all of your responses via WordPress Notifications NB. A 🙂
Thanks for the explanation. I will look at that when I get home. I might just do that myself, for the fun of it.
CHECK YOUR EMAIL? Now you’ve opened up a new can of worms. 😉
