A look at vehicles – both young and old.
I have always been a car freak. I’ve had too many variations on the theme to mention. But I will say that VW’s have been my car of choice. This vehicle has gone full circle, from my 1961 bug purchased in 1969 (no photo, sadly) to my current set of wheels, a 2013 bug.
And now, thanks to Cee’s challege at ceenphotography.com, here are a few of my favorite things.

Wish you luck for 2014 my friend 🙂
Thanks, Jake.
Cute and quirky. Like you. Exactly what I’d expect. My car choices are less cute and way less quirky. Lately I am more interested in the technology. I am jealous of people who can talk to their cars and have the cars obey. My next car had better step it up.
Least you don’t have scratched up wheels! Ugh! Two down. Two to go.
Although your parking skills can use some brushing up. LOL
GAH! I’m like demolition derby. I’m going to tell my new car, “No snuggling with other cars!!”
😉
I really like the bug!! These are all great photos!!! Thanks for playing!
Ah no! Thank you. 🙂
I like the bike!
Happy New Year, Gemma!
So did I til I couldn’t hold it up properly anymore. Then back to the bug. Ugh! It stinks getting old.;-)
Happy new year, Allan.
Great sets of wheels, Gemma. You look like a biker girl. 🙂
Not any more, sweetie, 😉
Well, in my heart…
Great post Gemma! I am a car freak too ! I love the new beetle !
She sure is fun to drive.
Thanks, Kathryn. 🙂
Beautiful selection and shots Gemma. I love that first volkswagen. I would love to have a pink one with doggie paws all over it..hehehehe
Now that would be a one of a kind, Sonel. And way cute!
Thanks and hugs.
I think I got my bug about the same year..
I keep coming back, Roberta. 😉
Now I didn’t know you’re a car freak. (I did know that you’re a “I freak out first and ask questions later” freak but am not going to mention that there, or here, at least not much anyway …).
I like your mono, Ma’am, and the gleaming machines – and I’d forgotten your love of VWs. As I may have told you, I drove a Beetle in Kenya, and before that I’d driven VW Kombis too, like the one you show, the biggest trip being two Kombis over to and all around Poland, in the mid 1970s.
As I’ve said several places else this morning – hope you two are ok. A 🙂
I looked up Kombi on google. Thank you for my “learn something new” moment today. I drove one out from New Joisey to California in 1970. They were made for that. 😉

Here’s one for you.
(I hope this works.)
I enjoyed looking at these b&w photos. You gave me a hint, so I posted some photos of my father’s on Cee’s challenge.
I read your post before I saw this. I was hoping I was your inspiration. YAY! Again – love the ute.
I had a bright yellow VW bug in 1972. Loved that car!
Bright yellow – like a smiley face 😀
All the best to you in 2014! 🙂
Thanks, q&a. 😉
Cool new pic on the right of your blog. Interesting bird house.
Thanks! 🙂
What a beautiful collection! Though I was the most drawn to the…little cosy camper and the motorbike 🙂 I know, an interesting balance in between those 2…
Happy New Year!
Thanks, Ese. Though I must admit, the camper was a photo of a poster in the VW dealer showroom, but the bike was mine, before I gave it up.
Such classics Gemma ! Such a free spirit .. can imagine you on that bike opening up the throttle 😉
LOL
