SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2014 WEEK 4

Do you recharge your energy by going out with friends for a good time or by spending quiet time alone?

I definitely recharge better alone.  I don’t have friends.  (A slight exaggeration but not too far off) When Jeff’s not away with work, we gallivant which tires me out more than charges me up. So ALONE, sitting at my desk, on my electronic equipment.

What is the most number of blankets you’ve ever had on your bed?

I think three.  And I have been known to go to sleep with p.j.’s AND a robe.  Sexy, huh? (No photo. Say thank you. 😉 )

You are invited to a party that will be attended by many fascinating people you never met. Would you attend this party if you were to go by yourself?

I’d go and pretend I’m a paparazzi.  Yeah, that’s it!  I could pull that off.  Seriously?  No, I’d stay home and chew nails before I attended a party with people I never met.

Do you like talking to people on the phone? Or do you prefer voice mail or email?

Voice mail, email, text, western union, morse code – these are my communication of choice.  I could use that introverted poster on Cee’s blog to hang in my house.  See answer to question number 1. 😉

  1. You don’t have friends? I’m with you on all the other answers (3 blankets, email etc), but I think I have friends. I can think of 3.

    • Actually I do have three myself. Three that I consider friends. Two live 2 hrs away. Friends for many years. I moved but thanks to technology and persistence we still see each other. One close by. That’s good for me. 🙂
      Thanks for the visits, Trish.

  4. It’s a good thing I’m not sensitive. Otherwise, I might think I was chopped liver. And I don’t even like chopped liver! When I moved here, I gave all my blankets except one to a homeless shelter. I live inside a pizza oven, now. Blankets are unnecessary.

    • Haha! I knew you’d go there, Pizza Lady! Read my response to Trish. One of that two is you!! You are my BFF (bet you can’t say that! Now who’s feeling like chopped liver?) Blah! I hate liver. Oh no! I hope I don’t get recipes for liver!
Stay warm. I stepped out the door this morning and I thought my nose would freeze off! I need to borrow that -30 degree coat of yours! Bundle Cupcake up and get in and out fast.

      • I DID read that and I DID know that and I CAN say that!! You’re my BFF in a thousand ways that nobody else can be. I was out walking around with Cupcake twice so far. I was fine in my -30 jacket. She had a sweater under her little pink parka. I dress her like my grandma. But she didn’t shiver, so I guess we’re OK. She gets 2 more walks, but besides that I’m in for the day.

      • I may be crazy but I didn’t feel too bad when I hit the road running today. The pretty red dash said 14 degrees, but like mom says, if there isn’t any wind…
All in all another good day in WhootWhooterville. 😀

  5. Welcome to the Introvert Club. I’m going to be doing the next installment on my introvert blog soon. I had to go into the office today to schmooze with some bigwigs (and pretend to be an extravert) so I’m taking time off to recharge tonight.

  6. Very revealing post, Gemma, that is apart from the flannel pj’s and gown. 😀 Hubby is my best friend, and I often think I could be happy, just the two of us on a desert island somewhere, as long as we had Internet and Skype, so I could keep in touch with with my family and blog friends. 🙂

  7. I have a theory that many bloggers are quite content with their digital gear, online access and their own company. I too, can readily identify with all your answers above!

  8. I really enjoy my alone time, too…. I can so relate! I prefer emails and texts to phone calls. But … If you come up my way this spring/summer, it would be great to share a cup of coffee so you could add me to your friend list! I do believe we have a lot in common. 🙂

  9. Brilliant idea with the paparazzi! Hide in plain sight behind a camera.

I love the colors and the composition of the picture too!

  10. “Thank you” – well I just thought I’d get that out the way first. I mean, well, you know, up front ….

Recharging – like you, on my own, with peace and quiet; often with good beer or cider.

Blankets? Can’t recall exactly, but 5+ when down with malaria.

I’m not a party person but I’m also not intimidated by strangers, so I’d just go on my own – what the hell! BTW, I’m thinking of a project this spring / summer asking strangers if I can photograph them. Wanna help? You could be the charmer out front, and also carry the first aid kit.

Oh the phone is fine – but face to face is miles better!

I have your mail, ATP, will reply tomorrow. A xxx

    • I’m too far away to help! I would have loved working on a project with you. But I don’t know about ‘a charmer’. I can be a real b-tch. No! Really! 🙂
I want to know ore about the project when you have time.
Take good are of yourself or I’ll be pissed!

  11. Have I got a book for you! Susan Cain’s Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can’t Stop Talking.
I’ll try to link it here: http://www.amazon.com/Quiet-Power-Introverts-World-Talking/dp/0307352153/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1391908958&sr=1-1&keywords=quiet+the+power+of+introverts+in+a+world+that+can%27t+stop+talking

I LOVED it, and suspect you might too. I think blogging is the perfect occupation for an introvert.
(However, in all candor, someone who looks as snazzy as you in such a cool outfit with the bike and all — shrinking violet NOT.)

  12. Gemma!!! How have you ben? I have been away and starting a new job and very absent. I hope you are well my fried?

Feel free to express your (kind) thoughts.
