SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2014 WEEK 37

Cee’s Share Your World Challenge for this week will give you a look into my world. Keep Calm and Read on…

List three pet peeves.

PEOPLE WHO TALK ON THEIR CELL PHONES IN PUBLIC FOR ALL THE WORLD TO HEAR!

PEOPLE WHO TALK ON THEIR CELL PHONES IN PUBLIC FOR ALL THE WORLD TO HEAR!

What makes you think I want to hear your business?! I don’t care about the results of your last gynecologist appointment.   Nor do I want to hear a doctor discussing, in detail, a patient’s medical history, the patient’s name, and the details of the operation performed on said patient!  YES! These have both been broadcast LOUD and CLEAR on cell phones, in public with me and others within hearing distance. Can you say EEEEUUUW! and HIPAA PRIVACY RULES?!?!?   Since when do we have to answer the phone EVERY time it rings? Some things can wait.  Honest! And if you must, REALLY MUST talk, keep it down, please.  Thank you.

WHY IS EVERYONE IN SUCH A HURRY?!?!?

WHY IS EVERYONE IN SUCH A HURRY?!?!?

I am thoroughly bothered by people rushing to get – where?  Sometimes NOWHERE!  No patience standing in line..  No patience on the road.  No patience with your kids. No patience with each other. Rush, Rush, RUSH.  SLOW DOWN PEOPLE.  Have some consideration.  Smile, wave, say a kind word.  SLOW THE HELL DOWN!  (Sorry, but this really bugs me.)

BE KIND TO MOTHER EARTH.

BE KIND TO MOTHER EARTH.

Litterbugs!  You know who you are!  Use your ashtray. Don’t chuck things out the car window. And, put a bag in your car to collect your trash. Then put it IN THE GARBAGE. Don’t throw your empty wrappers NEXT to the trash can.  PUT THEM IN THE TRASH CAN!!!!  Treat the earth like your home.  Oh that’s right. IT IS YOUR HOME!  Teach your children well, people!

What makes you unique?

I feel pretty normal.  Nothing special.  Just another average Jo.

What would be your ideal birthday present, and why?

A date with my husband doing  anything.  I love spending time with him.  He makes me smile.

Which way does the toilet paper roll go? Over or under?

No brainer.  Over. It’s easier to find and rolls better.  Just sayin’.

(Can’t top Cee’s photo so,why try). 😉

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  I’m grateful that my mom’s feeling a little better this week.  And I’m looking forward to, well, ditto.

    • He”ll say “do you believe it? Still crazy about each other after 23 years.” To which I reply, “yup. Still crazy” 🙂
Thanks, Dawn. It took three marriages and a lot of wine. (Semi-kidding)

  1. Tick tick tick. I would’ve said the same three things. Did you draw yourself in the cartoons? It’s an impressive addition to your story. So good.

  2. Oh my gosh I am right with you on your pet peeves- especially the litter bugs. Drives me insane to see a cigarette butt tossed out the window of a car in front of me. And I walk a lot and see so much trash on the side of the road. Who didn’t get the memo? Do we need to bring back the 70’s commercial with the Native American standing by the pile of garbage with tears in his eyes? Get your crap together, people! Ugh!

    • That commercial came to mind when I was writing this post! We are on the same boat with this, Sue. We need it to go viral, and then some! Thanks for commenting and for helping keep “Momma” clean. 🙂

  3. Ok – but this time you’ve made it easier because I share many of your views – well, not the spending time with Jeff thing, well not unless he gives me a ride on his Harley anyway … could quite go for that … Oh and I love the selfie cartoons!

OK, peeves. Loud people on cell phones – agreed! People rushing – agreed! >>> I give my wife lifts to work, well its a married thing .. and so I’m in the rush hour and, maybe its because I’m old and retired and increasingly laid back, but I’m increasingly noticing how fast and aggressively people drive at that time of day – wow, lemme out of here! The litter thing, well it happens, but I get more fed up with “gee wiz” programmes on factual TV, lots of different camera angles, sound bites, sensationalisation of bland facts, speeded up sequences >>> I much much much prefer a good presenter who knows what s/he is talking about and who gives it to me straight, coherently, fluently and like it is!

Uniquity? Not sure I am, although my views and humour can be borderline – as Ghostbusters Two put it, “He was borderline for awhile, then he crossed the border”.

Birthday present: gosh, can’t think – tho a huge plateful of steak and kidney pie, with short crust pastry all round – and with lashings of real chips (not fries!) and succulent gravy – would be grand!

Toilet paper, or bog roll as we call it here – definitely over! Its a civilisation thing …

Last week: a nice visit to Burnham-On-Sea and a very nice lunch. This week – I’m hoping very much to be able to show my wife wild dolphins, something she’s been hoping for for ages.

    • Well I’m glad we agree on much of what I said. Makes me feel all the wiser. 🙂
I love the ghostbuster’s quote. I think it suits you! Haha. You are right over the top, bud! ❤️
And I hope you get your present next birthday. Sounds yummy!
Tell Eileen to keep her eyes peeled. I KNOW she will see some wild dolphins. I just know it!

  4. Yes, why do people talk so loud on their cell phones and want everyone to hear their business? Why are people in a hurry with their cars, even in school zones? It irritates me every time but if I take it seriously, my stress level will reach sky roof. Thanks for a wonderful post.

  5. You look like a very special Jo from where I’m sitting, and I’m absolutely not biased. 🙂
I could feel the steam coming out of my ears as I read your list!
Hugs for Jeff 🙂 And now I really must go and inspect Cee’s loo roll. It has to be an over, doesn’t it? 🙂

Feel free to express your (kind) thoughts.
