I headed into the trees, down the brown, leafy path. Enveloped in overgrown greenery. Bumps and stumps jumping out in front of me along the narrow trail. My intention, to escape. To find solitude in the depths of the woods. To find peace in the whisper of the leaves and the skittering of the squirrels. At least I hoped it was squirrels. It wasn’t long before I saw him. Encircled in sun light. He beaconed to me. “Come closer,” I thought I heard him say. “This way.” I’m sure that’s what I heard.
Do you see him? Can you feel him? He was there. I swear.

Two of them, right? 😉 Helen
Now you’re scaring me, Helen. I only saw one!
Can I come hike with you? thanks for playing!
Anytime. 🙂
“My intention, to escape. To find solitude in the depths of the woods. To find peace in the whisper of the leaves and the skittering of the squirrels.” Ahh. This feels like home. Thank you Gemma.
Yore welcome. New pic? I’ll need yo check on a larger device. (That sounded a little crude!) 😉
Excellent shot! Love the flag.
GAH! Yes, I see him. And NO, don’t go! He is clearly a demented leaf monster waiting to kill you and chop you up into tiny pieces to feed the trees. Which way? Back home for a muffin and a latte.
Now that’s a great idea! 😉
You have a forest close by?
How nice!
Just a tiny stretch of woods but fun! 🙂
I think I could just about make him out… was he wearing green? 🙂
Which way’d he go?
LOL
😉
Oh this is interesting! Your “Endurance” post is something upon which we’ll never, ever agree. But here, in this post, yes I can see him – and this is something on which we’ll always agree. I very much wish I’d been going down that track beside you, hearing what you heard. A
With a little libation we might have heard more.
And I knew my endurance post was not up your alley. But that’s what makes the world do it’s spinning, right? 😉
I don’t know about “bumps and stumps,” Gemma, but your words and image gave me ‘goose-bumps’. 😯
Me too! 😉
