WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – CONVERGE

I took some liberties this week – I’ll attribute it to poetic license.

Poetic License – definition
noun
1.

license or liberty taken by a poet, prose writer, or other artist in deviating from rule, conventional form, logic, or fact, in order to produce a desired effect.
My desired effect was to showcase a rose that caught my eye, a Zentangle I created and felt fit the theme of the challenge, and a conglomeration of the two.
P.S.  I throw out that word “artist” with tongue in cheek.  🙂

You might notice some white spots in the black ink.  I could say I meant to do that.  Truth is I need a new pen – ROAD TRIP!

  1. Wow! What a great effect! Superfun convergence of 2 beautiful pieces of art – one created by God and one created by YOU! I love it. God should be inside everything we do.

  2. Yay ! Nice one Gemma .
You’ve been working your sharpies overtime then .. now that’s REALLY good to hear .
Definitely time to stock up – an artist cannot possibly be left without the basic materials 🙂

  3. brilliant blending of the two – and the warm rose color is vibrant and just rich!

I also feel like that first photo is Georgia O’keeffe – like – very cool – and what kind of special pen do you use for your zentangles?

      • well we actually have a couple of those pens – and I love Sharpie brand – I also have their calligraphy markers (or pens) and they work well for fast writing that can still look neat.

oh and I forgot to note that I think the colored version of your pentangle feels more 3-D. The black and white felt 2-D and looking at the colored one it almost pulls you in the center –

      • I see what you mean. I am so much a beginner and I’m following a few people on Instagram to soak up some knowledge. Sometimes I think I’m getting discouraged and then I think, “No! Inspired!” 😉👍

  4. I absolutely love the tree ! I dragged a large piece of weird wood out of the woods myself recently in the hopes to make it a sculpture. I just tried to attach the short link but the NEW WP has me puzzled ! Cheers!

Feel free to express your (kind) thoughts.
