I KNOW I haven’t done 50 of these, but here’s just a few more things you just NEED to know about me.
Do you have a signature dish? If not is their one in your family?
I am not the cook of the house. I have no signature dish. I don’t even have a consistent signature. (Does anyone?) Jeff is the cook/baker. I’d say his signature dish is his potatoes au gratin. Just what these hips need. Right?
Do you have a favorite board game?
Easy…
Is there a household chore that you enjoy?
Chore and Enjoy don’t go together in a sentence. So no!
What is one thing you will never care about?
I don’t really know. I’m a worrier and slightly (ahem) insecure, so I care about EVERYTHING! (I really tried to think of something, but everything I thought of just made me say, “No, I care about that.” and “Nope. I really do care about that.” So If I think of anything, I’ll let you know. If YOU care about that.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful that our dog, Rocky, is doing better after his operation. In the week to come I’m looking forward to more good news about his biopsy. (Don’t worry. He’s a trooper.)
Come play along with Cee here. Share YOUR world…
For some people caring comes easy. Not for everybody. I will never care about perfection. I am at a point in life when good enough is good enough. Home decor – good enough. Cleaning – good enough. Glance in the mirror – yup – good enough. Voltaire said, “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.” I’m on board with that…
Yeah. Your right. Cleaning. Good enough. LOL
I’m not worried, you will worry enough for both of us.
Okay so I am a little worried but that’s just because you are.
😉
Missed this post- didn’t know Rocky had surgery! Sending healing thoughts and prayers his way!
😉
Thanks, Sue. He’s strong. He’ll come out on top.
Soooooo, you don’t care about cooking, then? Lol.
I can throw a few things together and they ain’t too bad, but I wouldn’t want to depend on it for survival. 😉
(I will say, I make a delish meatball, come to think of it.)
I love meatballs!
Potatoes au gratin sound good to me. 🙂 I also care about everything, and am a bit of a worry warrior. I think there are worse traits we could suffer from. 🙂 xx
😉
I hear ya!
So pleased to read that Rocky is doing better. 🙂
Can’t cook, won’t cook- that’s me! Except, somebody has to or we’d starve 😦 Signature dish???? Does cheese on toast count? 🙂
Very best wishes and hugs for 2015, Gem!
Cheese on ANYTHING counts! 😍 cheers for the new year.
Potatoes au gratin!.. sounds good right now!!! Not one household chore I enjoy. My signature dish.. potato salad. CH and I play Scrabble! I care very little about politics.. one less thing I need to worry about 😉
Potato salad!!! I love potato salad! Recipe please. Do you use dill? LOVE potato salad. (Oops. I said that) 😉
Thanks for remembering to share with me. 😍
I will shoot you the recipe (I think I have your email) but it’s nothing fancy and it is one of those deals where I measure nothing! I think it should probably be called EGG salad. I am doing SYW at my own blog now.. 😀 No dill! Only in dill dip which we inhaled on New Year’s Eve with rye bread!
Dill dip. Yum! I’ll need to look that one up. Bet it’s fairly quick and easy. As you know got the recipe for the potato salad so thank you. Be talking to ya… 😉
Dill dip I buy at Schnucks grocery in the kinda big city.. 🙂
AHHH. Ok. I suppose that’s easy enough. 👍
I hope Rocky all be OK. Potatoes au gratin sounds real good right now. Something warm. Guess my peanut butter and honey sandwich isn’t giving me the sense of warm your hubby’s Potatoes au gratin are giving me. Great answers.
Peanut butter and honey would hit the spot for me. Thanks for the visit, Cee. Happy new year. 😊
So sorry about Rocky, good thoughts and prayers for your four-legged family member. Love to cook, so no insecurity there, and I really don’t care if my house needs swept or dusted 🙂 Love scrabble and I’m grateful for everything , every day. Hugs, We wish you the very best for 2015
Thanks, J&M and have a fabulous new year!
Irish roots mean potatoes are a hit in any form with me Gemma . Potatoes au gratin a real comfort dish 🙂
Good to hear Rocky is doing well (sorry I must have missed something too ) extra hugs all round !
Potatoes ANYTHING is ok in this Italian’s book. Starch, mixed with a little Carbs and some butter. Yum!
Oh dear, this particular inquisition is going to something of a negative affair – which is not good for New Year! Answer to the first three questions = no! Don’t play any board games, maybe I’ll keep them for my dotage (which starts tomorrow ..)! Very laid back about chores, which means I do very few >>> which gets me into things I never care about which, particularly now that I’m retired, constitute an ever growing list – I always remember that quote from The Straight Story, Alvin saying that he’d seen a lot of Life, such that he’s learned to keep the grain but let the chaff fall away – I’m letting increasing amounts of the chaff go. A good thing from last week, or recently at least – we are at last free of workmen on the house. But what I’m looking forward to this coming week is easy – I very much hope that Rocky recovers and gets the all clear. Happy New Year! A
Thanks, Adrian. For playing along and for the good doggie wishes. If chaff means my hips would fall away, I’m all for relinquishing the chaff, but alas, I’m thinking it ain’t so. 😉 Happy New Year, bud. ❤️ I hope E’s doing better. My best to her for the new year as well, of course. ❤️❤️
Oh yes, forgot – according to WordPress, you’re my most frequent Commenter!!! Thank you very much for that! ATP xxx
Hope all’s as well in your world as it can be, Gem, and that you’ve been able to spend a little bit of time and contentment with Jeff these hols. January hugs! 🙂
It’s been an interesting two weeks Jo. But time with Jeff and Rocky is well spent. ❤️😉
So how is Rocky ???? Give him a hug from me. Signature dishes hey ??? The Son loves my potato salad…which is so heavy on the mayonnaise it has to be unhealthy. He is also partial to my bruschetta. At the moment though I seem to be making a chocolate mousse dish for everyone…made with avocado. People are getting a bit strange about it really. But it is rather scrummy.
Rocky is doing better, Jo. Thanks. It’s going to be touching go I guess for a while but he’s home with us and that’s good. I am not a fan of mousse but avocado is one of my new favorite foods. Bruschetta and potato salad, look out! Love them! It is so good to hear from you I hope you’re well. Have a great new year, Jo. ❤️
I’d like to have a cook/baker. I hope Rocky gets good news!
Yes Patti. I am very fortunate. Rocky is doing okay. Unfortunately the diagnosis was not a good one but we had some work done on him and we will just love him for a while longer. Thank you for your visit. And thank you for asking.😍
very funny gemma with the “care” question – lol – and hope rocky is doing well 🙂
Rocky is hanging in. Thanks. Still barks that’s for sure. LOL. For some reason I keep having to approve your comment. I’ll have to check into that. Keep those cards and letters coming LOL.
ha – I am on the monitoring because you just really never know what I will post in this comment section – ha!
and glad to hear rocky is coming along well…
👍😊
I’m grateful that each day comes as an opportunity full of more opportunities. Including those to start all over in certain matters.
Yes indeed.
Thanks for the visit, A.
