CEE’S ODD BALL CHALLENGE 2015 – WEEK 6

Well it’s been a heck of a couple of weeks.  Mom went from the nursing home, to the hospital, and back again.  She’s doing well (thanks, in case you’re asking 😉) but it’s been a hell of a roller coaster ride.  In between there and back, I had carpel tunnel surgery.  It’s put a crimp in my style – like I have one – but I’m coming along (thanks, in case you’re asking 😁)

It did supply me with a creepy odd ball photo for your viewing pleasure. (Or not 😫)

It has also freed up some time for me to be bored out of my skull.  Good side is, I find that I can do more with my left hand than I thought.  I’ve also been meditating more along with a very cool app called Calm, and I’ve even gotten Jeff to join me.  Oh and Rocky too. He’s healing well from his cancer/amputation (thanks, in case your asking 😊🐶) and is meditating along with us.  No lie!  He lays down, breathes rhythmically, and when we’re done and the app is quiet,  he lifts his head. Come on! Really?  Yes.  Really.  Kind of odd.

And not to leave one of my favorite oddities out, Abby’s back.  She’s dressed for all the predictions, but we have lucked out here, so far.  Jeff’s daughter lives in Massachusetts – 7 feet of snow and it’s not letting up!  Can you say “South Caroline here I come!” ? And north Jersey has gotten it’s share, but we are hanging in, much to Abby’s dismay I would imagine.  Don’t worry Abs ol’ girl.  The meteorologists can’t be wrong forever.  Or can they?

Abby Abnormal - with her positive attitude. Bring your sled and it will snow. ;-)

Don’t give up the ship, Abs.

  1. Well goodness! What a time you are having! I don’t think you need any more action like snow. Sorry, Abs! I hope you bounce back soon and your mom thrives in care. And that the sweet pup gets through okay. Cheers and blessings! With meditations, I’m sure this is all a coast in the VW van. 🙂

  2. Oh, so sorry about all your downs, Gemma, but happy to read about the upside. You must be feeling like ‘The Grand Old Duke of York’. 😕 Glad that Rocky and Jeff have also come to the meditation party. Great photos of Rocky! Abby look really cool, just like your weather. 🙂 xx

  3. Wow, you have been in a whirlwind of activity. Excellent outcomes though, if everyone is feeling better, including the dog!
Amazing what some slow pensive healing time can achieve. Stay well!

  4. So glad you are ALL feeling better. Wow- stressful tho- I bet you wanted to tell a few people to “go fly a kite”. Lol. I imagine it’s maddening to not be able to express yourself in art, either. Saying a prayer or two for sunnier days ahead!

  5. Wow, you have had a time, hadn’t quite realised about all that! And the picture is creepy – are they going to use it as a poster for “Return Of The Mummy”??? Very glad to hear about Rocky – great stuff! How long before you shed your bandages? Mine are greatly reduced, I think (hope!) successfully – but a check on Monday will tell.

Happy Valentine’s to you too! ATP xxx

  6. Bless your heart. You’ve really been going through it. Thanks for letting those of us who love you know what’s going on. Happy V-Day to you and Jeff. I hope you are not taking anything that will mess with having some red wine this evening!

  7. So sorry to hear about all your woes Gemma. heal quickly. I had carpal tunnel surgery a long time ago and all is good now. Sorry to hear about your Mum and Rocky. Sending them both good vibes…now where can I find this ‘calm’ app ??

  8. Well you have had a trying time, pleased to hear all is getting better. Now you will be ambidextrous!!! I have a friend scheduled for the carpel tunnel op next week, she is dreading it. Wonder if they have that calm ap in the Apple store? I will have to check it out.

  9. Abby sure made me smile Gemma and I love your photos as always hon. Gorgeous! 😀
Glad to hear everyone is doing fine and carpal tunnel sure is a yucky thing to have. I have it in my left wrist. Take care sweetness. ♥ Hugs ♥

  10. Oh, Gem- I love you! 🙂 🙂 I’m barely just back and checking up on my best bloggers, and what do I find? You, surmounting all the odds, a dodgy hand, and not a little snow! And I need to borrow Rocky, please? I’m not at all good at meditating… Contemplating mischief- now that’s a different story! 🙂 Be well, Gem.

    • I’ve just been kind of tired sometimes. Kind of distracted sometimes. And kind of feeling a little crabby sometimes. Oh. That’s right. That’s not something different. :-). I have a feeling I’ll be in and out of here on an irregular basis. There doesn’t seem to be any consistency. Eventually…

      • My blogging is totally without any kind of consistency. I am currently in a blog funk. I still love reading other blogs though.. 🙂 I know about tired, distracted, and crabby. And my personal all time favorite… PROcrastination.

  11. enjoyed your oddball posit very much – and I have to know more about that app! Also, how cute that your dog joins in – and I can see that – dogs are so smart – and my black lab actually sings with me – it is fun. Both dogs have also enjoyed a lot of the snow this last week – we do not get a lot of snow in richmond – and this is the most we have had since 2010 – so we are not tired of it yet.

hope your wrist heals perfectly. ❤

    • Heading to the doctor’s in a bit to remove dressing. Doing nicely though. Thank you, Yvette. The Calm app is in the Apple Store and on Google play. My husband and I, and friends, enjoy it. There’s the free part and then the $9.99 for a year to unlock other meditations. I finally broke down and spent the dough. I can buy a car faster than I can spend a buck on an app. Go figure! ❤️

      • well we all have things we spend our money on and other things that are harder to budge on – lol – and I will check it out – I have been looking for something like that – so thx – and I will keep you posted.
safe drive to the docs 🙂 ❤

  12. Apparently I am a little late to the party…but I am happy to hear you are on the mend (I was asking!)
I love the idea of a meditating dog….my overly excitable, not quite 2 year old lab may have to go to the local Monastery to study with the Monks.
As for Abby…she is a classy lady ready for whatever comes her way! I also look forward to her next outfit. (Its good to see she gave up drinking!)
