SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2015 WEEK #13

Not to seem superstitious, but the number 13 is a favorite of mine, so I couldn’t miss this one.

What was your favorite subject in school?

I didn’t like school – for a number of reasons.  This is a ‘sharing’ challenge so I’ll share.  I had very few friends in school.  Maybe my own doing, I don’t know. But it kind of spoiled school for me.  Later, much later, I attended college at the age of 47.  At that age you’re there for the learning, not for the friendships, so, then,  math was my favorite.  (I got your back, Gen).

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away” (George Carlin). When have you had such a moment?

No doubt, the birth of my son.

What’s your choice: jigsaw, crossword, or numeric puzzles?

Numeric puzzles, of course.  And I love, Love, LOVE Sudoku.  Every Sunday, Jeff and I go out for breakfast.  He has to have the Sunday paper.  I have to have the Sudoku.  We sit and reach our hands across the table,  my left resting on Jeff’s right, waiting for our order.  Jeff reads.  I do the puzzle.  Corny you might say.  I say Thank God.

If you found an obviously abandoned car with $50,000 in the back seat, what would you do?

As much as I could really use the money – Uncle Sam creamed us this year! – I’d have to turn it in to the police.  I’m such a nerd.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week,

That our taxes weren’t any higher!!  I’m paying taxes on money that I already paid taxes on!  ie: Social Security.  Come on. Really?  Yes. Really.  But it can always be worse, right?

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Next week I’m off from my little caregiver job.  I can use the time off.  And if the sun decides to shine, BONUS!

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – WEATHERED WOOD

It’s raining.  Again.  And those news smarties are telling me it’s going to be all wintery this weekend.  Really?  Wintery?  It’s nearly April for heaven’s sake.  When will these cold, dreary days disappear and make way for blue skies and sunshine.  I’m a little bit tired of this weather.  (segue into this week’s Fun Foto Challenge…)

So you want Weathered Wood?  It don’t get no more weathered than this!  Come on Mr. Sun!!!

TIME OUT FOR ART – MARCH 26 2015

Some of you may have noticed, I’ve taken up Tangling.  Zentangle is a fabulous, relaxing, confidence building pass time.  I was just reading a post by my amiga, Lisa, at Zeebra Design’s & Destinations.  And it’s true.  There’s always time for art.  If you have 10 minutes, you can draw or paint or start SOMETHING!  It’s calming.  It’s productive.  It’s FUN.

Here’s some of my art.  I never felt like I could really, REALLY draw, but I can.

CEE’S ODD BALL CHALLENGE 2015 – WEEK 12

Saturday, Jeff and I headed over to New Hope, PA to wander the streets and take in the sites.  The weather was suppose to be nice enough (it wasn’t) and I was in a window shopping/spend some money kind of mood.  Anyway, after strolling for a couple of hours, Jeff ran to the car to refill the meter’s belly.  He lost sight of me for a minute when he got back to where I said I would wait for him.  (I lied.  I got sidetracked.)   He was not surprised when he found me half way down an alley gawking at this macabre mix of mannequins.

He knew exactly why I needed these pictures.  And another thing I need are those rose colored glasses!

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2015 WEEK #11

It’s March 20, 2015.  It’s the first day of SPRING!  It’s snowing!  I will NOT share how I feel about that.  So…

List 2 things you have to be happy about?

I can’t even think of anything that comes before this.  I am grateful for my husband, Jeff.  For too many reasons to list.

001

And my other love, something that I will not say is my passion because I’ve complained about not having a passion, so I’ll just say it’s something that makes me happy, relaxed, and, yes, a little confident that there is still hope that one day I will have a passion.  My tangling.

Zentangle – A happy thing.  Not a passion

Do you prefer ketchup or mustard or mayonnaise?

Mayo.March 2015 009Everything else gets HOT SAUCE!

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colors would you use?

Black, mostly.

Do you prefer a bath or shower?

Shower.  Definitely!  No photos.  Don’t thank me.  😉

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week,  Having lunch with my friend, Gen.  I have very little adult, human contact (sad, I know) with  Jeff working away from home so much and with Gen living two hours away, so I’m always grateful when I get to see her.  We talk (a lot), and laugh (a lot), and share (a lot) and for that I am oh, so grateful.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  Easy.  SPRING!  The weather may not be cooperating today, but the word “spring” is out there now so it can’t be long.March 2015 260APlease take some time to stop off at Cee’s for more sharing and for a look at a sensation blog.  Click on the icon below.share-your-world2

CEE’S ODD BALL PHOTO CHALLENGE 2015 – WEEK 11

I sat down at my computer to compose this post and it made me think: Why do I do so many Odd Ball posts?  Well, I’m not going to worry about it.

Here are some odd shots of some ‘decor’ around town.  The town slogan:  “Collingswood. The place you want to be.”  Or something like that.

I got a look at my 5 figure tax bill recently.  I’m not so sure anymore.

I was real conflicted about it, as DeNiro said in Analyze This. (P.S.  This movie is an oldie but a goodie – kind of like me.  If you haven’t seen it, it’s good for a chuckle – kind of like me.)

Boss Paul Vitti: I wasn’t really gonna whack you.

Dr. Ben Sobel: Paul…

Boss Paul Vitti: Okay, I was gonna whack you. But I was real conflicted about it.

Anywho… Crocheting?  Knitting?  Combo of the two?  Is it art?  Is it tacky? It certainly is Odd Ball.

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – WALL

Cracker Barrel Restaurant – one of my favorite (though probably not healthiest) places to eat.  I think it’s a nostalgia thing.  A good memory place.  Somewhere that reminds me of days gone by.

While driving down to Nashville, Tennessee Jeff and I saw our first Cracker Barrel.  That was many moons ago, and it has now become a vacation tradition.  Since I’m not a lover of flying, we have stopped at many a CB on our travels.

This morning I decided to grab a book and a few drawing materials, and I headed over to a local CB.  Here’s a look at those walls.

CEE’S ODD BALL CHALLENGE 2015 – WEEK 10

For 25 years I worked in an office. (Some of you might know this so hang in a minute…)  After a healthy dose of downsizing, I decided I’d go to college (natural progression, right?) After graduating, I went into teaching (a life long dream, and I’m getting to my point, I swear!)

I taught Developmental Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade.  So after retiring (here it comes) I knew I couldn’t take on a part time gig without having the words, “FUN” and “KIDS” and “PLAY” involved.  So now I ‘sit’ a little genius, and on no school day, his bro.

Sometimes, girls (and their charges) just wanna have fu-un. 😉

We made Lego names for an Instagram Challenge I entered.   More fun.

And, although this is a moving Odd Ball, still, fun, Fun, FUN!

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – CATCHING PEOPLE UNAWARE

Talk about unaware!  I was just that – unaware that I had any candid photo.  Just goes to show you.  You never know what you have til you take a good, hard look.

These first two photos are pictures of my little charge.  I watch this cutie five days a week, and if you’re familiar with my blog, you know that he is not shy when it comes to the camera.  But, as luck would have it, I got him in his unawares. 😉029

036A

This boy is all about learning, and planets and how the human body works, and he soaks it up like a sponge. Someday, I’ll share a video of him teaching me about space.  Precious!

This gentleman just looked very interesting to me.  I practically never take candid shots, but I do remember doing this one.  I was being very sneaky, and I felt guilty as hell!  Just call me Double Oh Doofus.  (I shot this in B&W, hence, the B&W.)

This photo was taken in the same diner as the gentlemen above.  She was the hostess and that hair do, in my eyes, made her the hostess with the mostess.  I LOVE THAT DO! Color and all.

Well, that’s it for my covert operations.  Slip on over to Cee’s and spy with your little eye, a little more on the clueless unaware.  Click on the icon below…cees-fun-foto

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – ORANGE YOU GLAD…

This week, Michele at WordPress asks for at least three photos that are dominant orange. I’m glad she said “at least” because I stink at rules and if she had said “only three”  I wouldn’t have been able to choose.  It’s not that they’re all that unique.  It’s just that I took the time to shot the pix and I like them all, so I’m using them all.  That simple.

Here goes orange…
