I’ve never been know to be ‘colorful’, except for maybe my language at times. I’m more of an earth-tone kinda girl. So these are what I was attracted to: browns, greys (or is it grays?), and reds.
Welcome to my interpretation of ‘colorful’.

Beautiful muted colours, Gemma. The sunlight playing on the old wood, creates such lovely effects. 🙂
Thanks, ad. I really like those earth tones. And the sun, well, can’t go wrong with the sun. 🌞
Great choices. Is that an old-fashioned cellar door, like in the kids’ song “slide down my cellar door” (holler down my rain barrel, something about an apple tree)? I haven’t seen one of them in forever.
Yes it is. We use to have one when I was a kid, and guess what? You CAN find just about anything on Google!
🎶🎶say say old playmate,
come out and play with me.
and bring your dollies three,
climb up my apple tree.
Slide down my rainbow,
into your cellar door.
and we’ll be jolly friends……
forever more, more, more, more, more, more more.🎶🎶😉
Okay! So it’s rainbow, not rain barrel. I had the tune, just tangled the words up.
I’ve seen both versions. You say tomato…😁
Wonderful weathered wood!
LOL thanks!
Oh Gemma, I like your interpretation of Color. I could live with all of these. They are wonderful photos. Thanks for playing 🙂
Thanks for encouraging me. 😉
VERY lovely Gemma … and I can feel the warmth of the sun on that wood from here … hope you & Jeff enjoyed that coffee the other day when the sun put in an appearance 😉
We did, poppy. Thank you. It rained all day today but I just know the sun will be making another appearance soon. 🌞😉
You ARE an earth-tone girl. Always were. One more way we’re complete polar opposites. The pictures are perfect for this challenge. Like the most cautious of the Three Little Pigs, I choose the bricks as my favorite. 🙂
Nobody knows better than you. It even spills into my moods. Talk about polar opposites!!! 😍
Sunshine! It’s so splendid to see after a long winter. I can even feel it in these photos. Mmmmmmm.
Sooooo necessary!!! 😉
Great colors you have clicked! I know the challenge is about color but the textures are pretty cool too… the wood and the brick. Bottom shot looks like a storm cellar… my Grandad had one! The sunshine does look wonderful.
You make me feel older than my years. I HAD ONE when I was little. It was a coal cellar – how we heated out 4 room rented house. Come a long way. 🙂
Thanks, pix. 👍❤️ Stay safe in tornado land.
We still have them around here!
You NEED THEM!!! 😱
I like it. Rural photography works.
Thanks, Allan.
very nice take on colorful – I also like the lighting in the first two – with shadows that add interest… 🙂
This was fun. I got lucky with the sun. He seems to be hiding a lot these days.
oh I know – and we have had two sunny days in a row over here – so that has been nice – I even did a bit of garden clean up.
I also forgot to tell you that last week I showed some art students your zentangles. well they are former art students but were in town last week and we met up for a crew hours. anyhow, I then showed them some you tube videos and their mom is going to have them try some later – 🙂
That’s fantastic, Yvette. I’m glad I sparked a conversation. 😍
