CEE’S BLACK AND WHITE CHALLENGE – SEATING

A Sunday spent window shopping with a friend, I pass by this quaint little store and spot the most amazing bench.  Why amazing?  Well, it’s wood and metal and very Americana.  My husband has a collection of wooden, metal, and glass American flags, and I knew he would love this.  So I took a photo, smiling to myself and being all proud of my find.  Meanwhile, WHY DIDNT I ASK IF IT WAS FOR SALE?!?!?!?!

TRAVEL THEME – SYMBOLS

Ailsa, at wheresmybackpack, has suggested a tribute to the late Nelson Mandela, with a post depicted symbols.  She mentioned two that we display a great deal of in our homes. Peace and Freedom.  When I downloaded the photos, I thought “why doesn’t my husband tell me to STOP!”  Although I don’t think all peace symbols are equal, and I don’t buy every one I see, I didn’t realize how many I have.  But then, could there ever be enough PEACE?

Some of my collection of symbols…

Another reason I suppose my husband doesn’t complain is (first of all he’s so not a complainer, and second of all) because he has a collection or two of his own.

Jeff’s collection – Freedom…

FFF-CHALLENGE by FRIZZTEXT

F IS FOR FFFLAG!

Having been a teacher, I don’t know why it took me so long to join in the FrizzText A-Z Photo Challenge.  Of course I didn’t graduate college and become a teacher til I was 51.  Now if that doesn’t make me a procrastinator!  So, as is my M.O., I’m late and coming in on the F’s and I’m not sure I’ll make it to all the challenges (also my M.O), but here’s my FFF’s – and I know I’m being obvious, but I’m coming in with FLAG!

This beautiful property down the road a piece from our shore house is flanked with miniature flags.  Then, last night, we were taken by surprise when we went into town back home, and they were holding a National Nite Out in Collingswood.  The flag was not so miniature there.  Appropo though.  No?
