SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2015 WEEK 2

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?

I’m a hugger.  Unless I know you don’t want to be hugged.  Then I’m not! (I can respect that.)

What’s your favorite ice-cream flavor?

Toss up.  Mint chocolate chip and butter pecan.  I’ll take a scoop of each, please.

Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?

Huh?

Just kidding, kinda.  I do a little of both.  Don’t want to get to crazy with either.  The old bones ain’t what they use to be and the mind, though a terrible thing to waste, doesn’t pick up on things too easily.  (Poor reading habits growing up. So now you know.)

Are you more of a dog person or a cat person? Why?

Although I live with both, I’d have to say I favor dogs, due to the unconditional love and all. (Does that sound needy?)

Phoenix. Dreamy. As most feline are.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so grateful that our dog, Rocky is doing much better.  For those that don’t know, we had to have his left front digits amputated. (The Big “C” does not discriminate, the bastard!)

I am also grateful for my sister.  She is a wonder. Love you, sis.

The week coming up? Nothing in particular.  Just plain grateful.

FRIZZ TEXT A-Z CHALLENGE – RRR

I have the worst time getting to all the posts.  I don’t always have photos that apply.  I don’t always have the time.   I do what I can, which we all are doing, I hear.  But I couldn’t let frizz’s A-Z  challenge for RRR get by without showcasing my sidekick – Rocky.

As much as he loves me, he was missing his ‘dad’.  I wonder what he’s thinking.

TRAVEL THEME – RELAXING

It would be wise to take a tip from our animal friends.  These critters  know how to relax.

Our neighbor’s cat comes to our door every so often.  We don’t feed him because her people say he’s covered in that area, so we respect that.  Apparently, Tripper doesn’t really care if you feed him or not.  Unconditional love.  🙂  He visits anyway.

He must find it very relaxing here.  In return, he gives me a chance for a little time out for myself.  We rest together on the deck.  I talk.  He listens.  Very relaxing.   I’m following his lead.

Our cat, Phoenix, seems to have a similar take on what’s important and what can wait.  She is THE MOST relaxed cat I know.  CATTITUDE!

She’s a fast learner or it’s just a cat thing.  (It’s the latter, I do believe.)

Not to digress, but I will.  Yesterday, after seeing Ailsa’s challenge, we went to dinner and this is what greeted us at the door.  I had to include it, just in the off chance, as corny as it is, that it makes you smile.  (one of my goals)

UGH! I told you it was corny!

And of course, there’s our old pal, Rocky.  He and Phoenix are best buds, and I think he’s taking a few tips himself.

Now this dog’s perfected relaxing!

Relaxation at it's finest!

We don’t tell him to go in there, he just does!

Have a relaxing weekend  –  and then some.  While you’re chillin’, stop off at Ailsa‘s blog for more on the art of Relaxation.

TRAVEL THEME – COSTUME

Cupcake is a busy girl. She’s a therapy dog, she ‘s a library story time helper, she has her own blog, and she loves dressing up in costume. A dog of many talents, she is a dear friend of mine and she looks stunning in purple. I think you’ll agree that she is one sweet little canine cutie. Her mom is a children’s author and together they make school visits to tell kids all about the life of an author. She has a closet full of outfits and a costume for every occasion. If you don’t believe me, looky here…

Not to forget, Smoki, Cupcake’s predecessor, these two shots are in memory of her.

"I love to stay at the Y-M-C-A..."

“I love to stay at the Y-M-C-A…” Another fashioneesta!

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – MY 2012 PEOPLE OR ANIMALS

It’s snowing and I’m sitting here thinking about sunshine, warm breezes, beaches, and coconut oil.  I can’t help it.  I’m not a fan of the winter months.  My oil bill could choke a horse, and I’m still just as cold inside as I am outside.  ( can you say “old drafty house?” )

My thoughts turn to summer and a fun trip to the zoo with my beautiful grandkids that I only see once or twice a year. UGH!

So for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week, I decided to showcase a few Cape May NJ zoo animals and any other critters I’ve come by along the way.

Enjoy and have a super happy new year.  Be safe!

And not to forget family and friends

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Pets

A tribute to Marshall. Our precious pet who traversed Rainbow Bridge last month. And a tribute to Rocky. Our big lug of a shepherd who keeps us sane.

Miss you, Marshmallow Man.
Love you, Rock.

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLANGE – HAPPY

It’s odd that “happy” is the photo challenge for this week.  Ironic, I guess you might say.  It’s been a difficult week for our family because we lost one of our precious pets yesterday.

Marshall was a dear, sweet lug of a dog.  He was loving, and warm, and had the softest ears ever :-).

This was Marshmallow Man when he first came into our lives. That was a happy day, indeed.

Marsh spent 13 1/2 years with us.  He’s been a part of , and the cause of, many happy days.  Now we have memories, and as sad as it is that he’s physically gone, those memories will always bring a smile to my face.

I know the hurt lessens, but for right now “happy” is a little tougher than it was two days ago.  I’m kind of glad this was the challenge offered up by WordPress this week.  It gave me the chance to pay tribute to Marsh and to thank him for a whole lot of happiness.  Love you, Marshmallow Man.

“Happy” manifests itself in many ways.  Click here (WordPress) for more.  Enjoy.

For those of you who will stop by, like, comment, or just browse, thank you.  I appreciate the visits.  They make me happy. 🙂
