TRAVEL THEME – HEIGHT

I’m not a fan of heights, but this is one height I can deal with.

Jeff and I had a fabulous Saturday.  First we drove south on the Garden State Parkway about 40 miles until we hit Cape May, NJ.  This is the last stop off the parkway.  It’s all about quaint shops, aromatic restaurants, giant old churches, sandy beaches, and more.  We walked, shopped, and enjoyed  a luscious lunch at Gecko’s Southwestern Restaurant in the middle of town.  After walking a little more, we both had a hankering for a good cup of joe, so we hopped into the Kia and headed back 25 miles north, to Ocean City, NJ.  This is one of Jersey’s more famous shore/resort cities, with, yes, you guessed it, shops, restaurant, churches, sandy beaches, and a rather extensive boardwalk.  WITH RIDES!  Jeff indulged my picture taking quirks and stood by as I clicked off a few shots of one of the rides I can still handle.

These are not the tallest of heights, but they still can provide you with a beautiful view of the ocean as well as the city.  It was a bit chilly so I begged off on the ride, but watched others soar to mini-heights as I captured their adventures. Then, finally, we headed off for that cup of joe.

WEEKLY IMAGE OF LIFE – BREATHTAKING

OCEAN CITY, NEW JERSEY

When I think of  breathtaking, I think of  beauty – beyond stunning. Sunrises, sunsets, beautiful women, nature, cosmic events, and if you’re a fan of Seinfeld like I am, you think of  a certain Seinfeld episode.  But I digress.

So I decided to play around with the word a bit and show you a little bit of “take your breath away”.  Same thing?  I don’t know, but I’m short on beauty beyond stunning right now so…

Sometimes a little ride on a ferris wheel can take your breath away, especially if there’s a stop at the top while directly below someone exits, stage left.

Although this is one of my favorites, the log flume can be a little hair-raising, taking your breath away and soaking you to the bone. Yahoooooooo!

If you look closely to the right on the platform, you’ll see a few flip flops that either got left behind or came flying off.  I don’t know whichThis is one of my step-son’s favorite rides.  Maybe because it takes his breath away 🙂 .

I don’t know about you, but these spinning things are not my cup of tea.  I’ll take a breathtaking ride on the biggest, baddest roller coaster out there before I get caught on one of these babies!

And finally,  I haven’t yet made this a point of interest in my blogging but I love, Love, LOVE my car.  It’s a black 2003 VW convertible beetle.  So, now that you know this tidbit of information, you’ll know why I am posting a photo of this vehicle which we found parked INSIDE a yogurt shop.  This, to me, is BREATHTAKING!
