SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2015 WEEK #11

It’s March 20, 2015.  It’s the first day of SPRING!  It’s snowing!  I will NOT share how I feel about that.  So…

List 2 things you have to be happy about?

I can’t even think of anything that comes before this.  I am grateful for my husband, Jeff.  For too many reasons to list.

001

And my other love, something that I will not say is my passion because I’ve complained about not having a passion, so I’ll just say it’s something that makes me happy, relaxed, and, yes, a little confident that there is still hope that one day I will have a passion.  My tangling.

Zentangle – A happy thing.  Not a passion

Do you prefer ketchup or mustard or mayonnaise?

Mayo.March 2015 009Everything else gets HOT SAUCE!

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colors would you use?

Black, mostly.

Do you prefer a bath or shower?

Shower.  Definitely!  No photos.  Don’t thank me.  😉

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week,  Having lunch with my friend, Gen.  I have very little adult, human contact (sad, I know) with  Jeff working away from home so much and with Gen living two hours away, so I’m always grateful when I get to see her.  We talk (a lot), and laugh (a lot), and share (a lot) and for that I am oh, so grateful.

TRAVEL THEME – ORANGE

Ailsa’s challenge this week is all about orange.  I might have displayed these brilliant beauties before, but they’re worth another look.  Orange.  BY DALE CHIHULY as presented at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.  More on Dale’s incredible work here.

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – THRESHOLD

Blissful Miss Spring:  Dear Old Man Winter, I’m begging you please. Move over.  Make room for the birds and some bees.

Old Man Winter:  Silly Miss Spring.  Get up off your knees.  I’m still not prepared to cut back on the freeze.

Blissful Miss Spring:  Sweet Old Man Winter,  oh, just a slight breeze.  One that will whistle through leaves in the trees.

Old Man Winter: Give a reason,  just one if you please.  A reason to bring back the birds and the bees.

Blissful Miss Spring:  Gosh, Old Man Winter.  Well – Geez Louise!  It’s just about time that you catch you some Z’s!

Looking forward to a blissful beginning to another new spring.  How about you?

SUNDAY POST – FLOWERS

“Earth laughs in flowers”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

If you don’t keep flowers in your house, you might want to think about it.  I’ve always had plants, but lately I’ve been keeping flowers in our bedroom.  They are the first thing I see when I get up, and if Earth laughs in flowers, well, flowers make me smile – every morning.

TRAVEL THEME – DELICATE

While out and about this weekend, I found what I think were appropriate subjects for Ailsa’s Travel Theme this week.  Though not much of a traveler, I did accumulate three different takes on the subject.  Tell me what you think.  Delicate? or Not so much.  And then travel over to Ailsa’s blog and see more delicate subjects from some seasoned travelers.  😉

A Christmas tree made of shells.  So delicate that I couldn’t buy it.  It was broken!

Whenever I’m in need of a pick-me-up, flowers always seem to do the trick.  Trader Joe’s  never let’s me down.

Yesterday, I spotted these ‘sailors’ .   This would not be my favorite mode of transportation, mainly because I am not a swimmer and I think it takes a delicate balance to keep you and your vehicle upright.  I did see a few of these sailboats tip precariously and that only reinforced my fears on the subject of sailing.  I also fell into a hole in the ground while making my way to the water’s edge.  Clearly not my cup of tea, this delicate business of boating.  But fun to watch.  Even if from a gopher hole!

CEE’S BLACK & WHITE CHALLENGE – CLOSE UPS/MACROS

“I decided that if I could paint that flower in a huge scale, you could not ignore it’s beauty.” ~ Georgia O’Keeffe

Georgia O’Keeffe did indeed paint HUGE fabulous flowers.  The colors were vibrant and there was no mistaking the paintings were hers.  Actually, she also painted some incredible black and white – which I didn’t know until now.   I wonder if she had painted my flowers, would they look something like this?

Personally, I think a flower dressed in any color is fabulous.

SHARE YOUR WORLD 2013 WEEK 33

107

A little late, but that’s my M.O.  Here’s a little more about me brought to you by Cee’s blog @ ceephotography.com.  Four questions.  Four answers.  Here goes nothin’…

If you could live in any OTHER time, when would it be and why?

Definitely during the wild west days.  Of course, I would be a rough and tumblin’ cowgirl, rustling cattle and riding into the sunset.

If you were given a yacht today, what would you name it?

Like most things that I tack a name onto, it would be “ONEGEM”.

Tell how you are feeling today in the form of a weather report. (For example, partly cloudy, sunny with a chance for showers, etc.)

Sunny.  With a chance of more sunshine. 🙂

List at least two things in nature do you find most beautiful?

Flowers, of any kind, and water, in any natural form.

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – CURVES

When I think curves, I think shapely.  Comes from a time when Monroe and Hayworth were a big part of my generation, I suppose.  Since I’m not surrounded by those types of curves and the days of my curves are waning, I thought I’d go with the more traditional definition of the word.  Although, I think curves can be sexy, even if they’re not part of a shapely torso.  Just ask my friend, Judith, at A View From The Woods. 🙂

This flower curved its petal to protect? comfort? hug? another bud.  So sweet and gentle.

A gentle embrace

A gentle embrace

Some curves, in the true sense of the word…

Yes, it is a humongous heart!  See the couple relaxing on their beach chairs?  That’ll give you a perspective on how big that heart really is.  Someone is soooooooo loved.
