SHARE YOUR WORLD 2015 – WEEK 3

Back with a Share Your World, hosted by Cee.  Read on then join in. 🙂

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

Warren Buffett.  A have a few questions for him.  And a request.  😉   Seriously, I think he’d be a very interesting person to have sitting across the dinner table.  If he’s not available, or if they both want to come, I’d also invite the Dalai Lama

When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?

I crank up the radio and sing in the car, when I think (hope) no one is looking.  I did this yesterday to Janis Joplin/Mercedes Benz.  I’ll bet I was a sight.  (like I care) 😉

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?

I would like to be wildly and intensely creative.  I know I try my hand at a lot of things: musical instruments, photography, writing, crocheting, jewelry making, blogging, drawing, tangling – to name a few (and to display a few),

but I wish I had more of a natural knack for imagining.  My creative synapses are not firing at full capacity.  If there were a drug for this – other than LSD – I’d consider it.  I’m OK. But, of late, I’ve seen some amazing art.  Dang!

What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about?

The news.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week, I realized that I’m stronger than I thought.   I’m grateful for that.

The week to come – more strength.

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2014 WEEK 50

I KNOW I haven’t done 50 of these, but here’s just a few more things you just NEED to know about me.

Do you have a signature dish? If not is their one in your family?

I am not the cook of the house.  I have no signature dish.  I don’t even have a consistent signature.  (Does anyone?) Jeff is the cook/baker.  I’d say his signature dish is his potatoes au gratin.  Just what these hips need.  Right?

Do you have a favorite board game?

Easy…

497

Is there a household chore that you enjoy?

Chore and Enjoy don’t go together in a sentence.  So no!

What is one thing you will never care about?

I don’t really know.  I’m a worrier and slightly (ahem) insecure, so I care about EVERYTHING!  (I really tried to think of something, but everything I thought of just made me say, “No, I care about that.” and  “Nope.  I really do care about that.” So If I think of anything, I’ll let you know.  If YOU care about that.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  236

I’m grateful that our dog, Rocky, is doing better after his operation.  In the week to come I’m looking forward to more good news about his biopsy.  (Don’t worry.  He’s a trooper.)

Come play along with Cee here.  Share YOUR world…

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2014 WEEK 49

What is your preferred hot drink: coffee, tea, water, hot chocolate, or other?

Coffee.

ENOUGH SAID

ENOUGH SAID

OK?

What was your favorite toy as a child . . . and now?

Tiny Tears.   I played with her til her arm broke off. Then I cried for a long time. She was real to me.

And now? I’d have to say my iphone and ipad, my pens and sketch pads. Not necessarily in that order.
Candy factories of the entire world have become one and will now be making only one kind of candy. Which kind, if you were calling the shots?

I’m with Cee.  Dark chocolate.  Preferably stuffed into an M&M shell

Would you want $100,000 right now or $120,000 in a year (tax Free)?

$100,000 NOW.  I could use the money at present.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am struggled with gratitude this week, I’m ashamed to say.  But I’m not giving up. I just need to regroup, adjust my thinking, keep calm, and carry on.

SHARE YOUR WORLD – WEEK 35

 SHARING MY WORLD. . .

Have your blogging goals changed?

Yes they have.  This blog was suppose to be all about my last year of teaching, but that never got off the ground, proving I rarely finish what I start. (See below)   So now I just want to take pictures and write –  and like the caption up top says, simply blog about nothing. Hey, ‘nothing’ worked for Seinfeld!

If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?

I would love to prance around the ring on horseback.  At this point in time, it would be more like broken back.  Dang these degenerative discs!

If you could go back and talk to yourself at age 18 what advice would you give yourself? Or if you are younger than 25 what words of wisdom would you like to tell yourself at age 45?

Write more.

Be less critical.

Be more nurturing.

Finish things you start.

Start the day with a positive thought.

End each day with gratitude,

and always say your prayers.

What is your favorite comfort snack food?

Cheese and crackers, El Diablo hot mustard for dipping, and Sweet Baby Jesus Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter Beer.  And if I’m out and about, a Philly Pretzel will do just fine.  Great stuff, huh?  Well the keys words were comfort snack food, not healthy snack food.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Lunch with my friend, Gen, mother of Cupcake, who lives too far away to see as often as I’d like, but who is always in the car and heading south when I need her.  As far as looking forward to, well, nothing planned, so I guess I’m in for a surprise!

Question 1 in the 33rd week of Cee’s Share Your World!

Do you believe in ghosts?

Not convinced.  But I’d be open-minded if someone wanted to prove it.  Seeing is believing.  Even if it’s SEEING THROUGH!

Q2

Irregardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility:  If you could play any sport professionally what would it be?  Or if you can’t picture yourself playing sports, what is your favorite sport?

Baseball.  I think that would be fun.  And very profitable!

Q3

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?

Short.  Obviously.  Very Short.

short hair

If you were on an small island, who would you want to be with? And where is it?  How big is it?

Jeff.  And any place warm, sunny, isolated, flowery, peaceful, and NOT HUMID!

Grateful for my sister coming back to visit from Florida.

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2014 WEEK 31

back again to share…

Q #1 If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? (Guests can be dead, alive, famous, or someone you just know)

Abe Lincoln, George Harrison,  Anne Frank

image

Q #2   What can you always be found with?

My glasses, my iPhone, my sense of humor

Q #3   What is the most fun thing you did in school?

Strange, but true.  I remember very little from school. Nothing fun. Frustrating, really.  (Sometimes I think I should seek professional help on this one)

image

Q #4  What’s something you know you do differently than most people.

Speak Italian to my mom.  I’m sure there are a lot of people who do, but not most people. 🙂

Bonus questions: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am SO grateful for a day at our beach house last week.  It was the first of the summer.  Family matters have taken precedence.  It was wonderful, relaxing, and RELAXING!

I am looking forward to my sister visiting next week.  She’s coming up from Florida to help take care of our mom, and I am looking forward to AND grateful for the help.

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2014 WEEK 14

Cee’s back with some fun questions.  And I’m back with my usual witty answers. Ha!

Here we go…

1.  If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?

image

A One Way sign is not the way my day goes, but it’s something that I’m striving for.  Kind of like a keep calm and move on mentality.  Plus a little “Do not take anything personally”.  Maybe I could throw in an Under Construction sign too. 🙂

2.  Is your hair short (total neck and ear showing), medium (covering ears and neck), long (below shoulders), extra long (at least halfway down your back) or bald?

I have always wanted long hair but never had the patience to let it grow and flow.  Now, I can’t be bothered, so it’ short, short, short.  The shorter the better.

image

3.  When you are with your friends, do your interactions include much touching—for example, hugging, kissing, rough housing, rubbing backs? Would you like to have more of this? (Note: the answers may vary depending on where you live on this wonderful planet.)

I’m a hugger by nature.  But I play this one by ear.  Some of my friends greet me with a hug and a kiss.  I like that.  Some don’t, but that’s ok.  Respecting one’s personal space is the way to go.  Knowing my friends and how they feel about that space determines whether I show physical affection or greet with a smile. Both are delivered with love.

4.  What do you feel is the most enjoyable way to spend $100?

Simple.  Food and drink!

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful for my friends.  Been a little frazzled and they have helped put some things into perspective. I won’t go into detail, but thanks:  Genevieve, Marlene, my son, Jay, Adrian, Jen P. and the dear, sweet love of my life, Jeff. Also, a note to my friend RestlessJo. You’ve kept my spirits up, lady.  Thanks.

As  far as what I’ll be looking forward to next week, there’s nothing in the wind, but time will tell.  The lottery would be nice. If not then, simple.  Friends, food, and drink. 😉
