CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – BIKES AND MOTORCYCLES

Thirteen years ago, I got my motorcycle license. And it’s been that long since I nearly dropped the bike with me on it, and I never got on that horse again.  OK.  It was an adventure, but I’ll stick to riding shotgun, or whatever they call it when you’re the passenger enjoying the scenery as it flies by.

Jeff still likes to ride, so I’ll just hang on and sing a few bars of “Born to Be Wild” as the wind blows through my gray locks.

And just for a chuckle, for those of you who didn’t see this post, this was Jeff’s helmet and goggles, left out in the garage over the winter.  You’ve heard of “through the looking glass”?  Well this was “through the broken window”.  Apparently momma bird needed a place to build her nest.  We watched these critters hatch and fly away.  Needless to say, that helmet made it’s acquaintance with the trash.

AND TO LEAVE YOU WITH A FEW WORDS OF WISDOM…

Cee’s Black & White Challenge: Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles

vehicle sign

A look at vehicles – both young and old.

I have always been a car freak.  I’ve had too many variations on the theme to mention.  But I will say that VW’s have been my car of choice.  This vehicle has gone full circle, from my 1961 bug purchased in 1969 (no photo, sadly) to my current set of wheels, a 2013 bug.

And now, thanks to Cee’s challege at ceenphotography.com, here are a few of my favorite things.

HHH-CHALLENGE by FRIZZTEXT

Not too long ago, Jeff and I made our wish-list-visit to the local cycle shop.  This was hanging in the back of the place.  It says it all.

This was mine – 10 years ago.  Those days are gone but the love of riding remains.

HHH is for Harely.

TRAVEL THEME – RED

Ailsa, at wheresmybackpack, has offered us up another challenging Challenge.  The theme this week is RED so I will bombard you with a load of variations on the theme.  If you’re not seeing red after this, I don’t know what to tell ya…

First, and, of course, we start off with a kind of reddish flower that I spotted at a roadside market. I say ‘of course’ because the word ‘red’ evokes images of flowers to me, and I’ll bet many of you.   I didn’t get the name, sorry.  Hibiscus , I’m thinking.

Next, a view of our deck, our reddish adirondack chairs, and red, red wine. (I know the wine’s more purple than red but, give me a break!)

Continuing… Red lights blazing on the diner where we had dinner a few nights ago.

And can you stand it?!  Lowes and snowblowers.  A fellow blogger, at TheRetiringSort, posted some beautiful autumn “red” photos.  (check her out)  Now, I’m fine with autumn sneaking up on me, but SNOWBLOWERS?!?!?   In September?!?!?  Come on!!!!

And my post wouldn’t be complete without a picture of my favorite Phillies Phan. Love you, sweetie!!

Can you say, Harley Davidson???  Whoa!

I don’t know if my son is going to disown me, but this is him winning in Vegas.

OK, and with that, the “RED” stops here…

But don’t YOU stop here.  Continue on this journey into the world of “red’ by visiting wheresmybackpack.    Click on the red rose to get there. I couldn’t resist. :-).

SUNDAY POST – VEHICLE

OK.  I am behind in my posts, but I promised myself I would try to keep up so, here’s to Last Week’s Sunday Post and Vehicles.

REBEL AND I, A GOOD 25 YEARS AGO…

WAY before this photo was ever taken, this was the vehicle of choice.  Man oh man. Times sure have changed.

I captured some of my favorites and some of my first graders wanted to help out.  I think you’ll be able to tell which vehicles they contributed.
