CEE’S BLACK AND WHITE CHALLENGE – WOOD

I’m obsessed with grapevine wreaths lately. There is a giant peace sign wreath a few towns over, hanging outside the window of a  beauty salon. I WANT THAT THING!  Today I got a coupon for 55% off anything in A. C. Moore. I will use it and I WILL figure out how to make one.

imageThis is not that, and I’m not even sure grapevine is wood.  But I’m certain someone will let me know if I’ve erred in some way. I just thought it was pleasing to the eye.

Stop by and visit Cee’s blog. You’ll find some amazing photos there.

TRAVEL THEME – SYMBOLS

Ailsa, at wheresmybackpack, has suggested a tribute to the late Nelson Mandela, with a post depicted symbols.  She mentioned two that we display a great deal of in our homes. Peace and Freedom.  When I downloaded the photos, I thought “why doesn’t my husband tell me to STOP!”  Although I don’t think all peace symbols are equal, and I don’t buy every one I see, I didn’t realize how many I have.  But then, could there ever be enough PEACE?

Some of my collection of symbols…

Another reason I suppose my husband doesn’t complain is (first of all he’s so not a complainer, and second of all) because he has a collection or two of his own.

Jeff’s collection – Freedom…

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – RAINBOW COLORS

Right off the bat I am apologizing for the quality of this photo.  But there’s a reason, and it’s not lack of talent – not this time, anyway.

I spotted this colorful pony in a shop in Atlantic City.  He (She?) is so me.  For as long as I can remember I have loved horses and, being a child of the 60’s, I spent my teen years flashing peace signs at everyone and anyone.

So when I saw this horse splashed with rainbow colors and a pretty pink peace sign, I had to have a picture of it.  Problem was I was approached by a sales person, asking me not to take pix of anything in the store.

I had to do a skulky, stealthy, sneaky move, which accounts for the poor picture quality. 😦   Sorry, I know sneaky is wrong, but sometimes you just have to be a non-conformist and break the rules.

PEACE

Please make your way over to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge and take a look at more rainbow colors.  You won’t be sorry.  No Horsin’ around!

Cee, thanks for hosting and to all, thanks for visiting… 🙂

Thursday Lingering Look at Windows – Week 1

window

And yet another challenge has come to my attention.  There is absolutely no way I can keep up with all these challenges, as much as I want to, but ya just get sucked in.  Ya know?  So where I can, I try to post, and as long as it’s more fun than work, I’ll do what I can.  Like I’ve said before, “If only there were 48 hours in a day…”

Cee has taken over this Window Challenge from Sandra Connor.  Somehow, this one got by me, but I’m on it now.

I have been looking for a reason to post this photo, for –  if you know me or are even the least bit observant – obvious reasons.  I passed by this window display several times and finally was able to make a quick right, then left into a nearby driveway.  The neighborhood is always busseling and it’s so hard to find a spot to stop.  When I got the chance, I took it. Right, left, park, click, post.  I love this shot.  I hope you ‘like’ it. “:-)

The windows look like they can stand a little scrubbing, but, sometimes, you just need to overlook the grunge. 🙂

There are more windows to look through at Cee’s.  Stop by.
