THURSDAY’S DOORS – APRIL 23, 2015

A walk in the park.  A old, wooden shack.  A moldy, old door. A few daffodils and a sunny spring day (and I do appreciate that).

Spring is really trying to be in the air.  It’s 48 degrees right now.  It’ll need to try a little harder.

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – WEATHERED WOOD

It’s raining.  Again.  And those news smarties are telling me it’s going to be all wintery this weekend.  Really?  Wintery?  It’s nearly April for heaven’s sake.  When will these cold, dreary days disappear and make way for blue skies and sunshine.  I’m a little bit tired of this weather.  (segue into this week’s Fun Foto Challenge…)

So you want Weathered Wood?  It don’t get no more weathered than this!  Come on Mr. Sun!!!

OLD WOODEN SHED, YES, IN THE RAIN!

It stopped raining long enough for me to catch this pile of firewood trying to dry out.  Poor thing has been weathering all winter.  And now, even in spring!  You weather people ARE KILLIN’ ME!

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2015 WEEK #11

It’s March 20, 2015.  It’s the first day of SPRING!  It’s snowing!  I will NOT share how I feel about that.  So…

List 2 things you have to be happy about?

I can’t even think of anything that comes before this.  I am grateful for my husband, Jeff.  For too many reasons to list.

001

And my other love, something that I will not say is my passion because I’ve complained about not having a passion, so I’ll just say it’s something that makes me happy, relaxed, and, yes, a little confident that there is still hope that one day I will have a passion.  My tangling.

Zentangle – A happy thing.  Not a passion

Do you prefer ketchup or mustard or mayonnaise?

Mayo.March 2015 009Everything else gets HOT SAUCE!

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colors would you use?

Black, mostly.

Do you prefer a bath or shower?

Shower.  Definitely!  No photos.  Don’t thank me.  😉

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week,  Having lunch with my friend, Gen.  I have very little adult, human contact (sad, I know) with  Jeff working away from home so much and with Gen living two hours away, so I’m always grateful when I get to see her.  We talk (a lot), and laugh (a lot), and share (a lot) and for that I am oh, so grateful.

50 plus of friendship – what’s not to be grateful about

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  Easy.  SPRING!  The weather may not be cooperating today, but the word “spring” is out there now so it can’t be long.March 2015 260APlease take some time to stop off at Cee’s for more sharing and for a look at a sensation blog.  Click on the icon below.share-your-world2

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – THRESHOLD

Blissful Miss Spring:  Dear Old Man Winter, I’m begging you please. Move over.  Make room for the birds and some bees.

Old Man Winter:  Silly Miss Spring.  Get up off your knees.  I’m still not prepared to cut back on the freeze.

Blissful Miss Spring:  Sweet Old Man Winter,  oh, just a slight breeze.  One that will whistle through leaves in the trees.

Old Man Winter: Give a reason,  just one if you please.  A reason to bring back the birds and the bees.

Blissful Miss Spring:  Gosh, Old Man Winter.  Well – Geez Louise!  It’s just about time that you catch you some Z’s!

Looking forward to a blissful beginning to another new spring.  How about you?

This is in response to the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge – Threshold, as well as a blogger-friend’s reminder that it is poetry month. (Janna)   (And I throw out the word “poetry” loosely!)

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – THE SEASON OF SPRING

Little by little, it’s getting here.  Spring!  I can tell by the pinwheels on the lawn.  What?  Well I don’t know if this is an official sign of spring, but, when someone decides it’s time to put these colorful lawn decorations out, I’m guessing they’re telling us spring is just around the corner.  When I saw this a month ago, I was thrilled.  Spring!  Yahoo! Finally!

spring pinwheels

Now, which corner was it that spring was around?

Mother Nature needs to get with it!  She’s either sleeping on the job, or old man winter has her held captive.  The news people threatened us with frost last night, and told everyone to bring in their plants.  I don’t know who told them they make the rules, but I wore capris and a short-sleeved t-shirt today (and a soft, warm sweatshirt over the top of it all).  Yes. I’m stubborn.

Just down the street from this house is a business district that also welcomes the season in with giant flower pots, painted by local artists.  They’ve been doing this for some time now, so the pots are a bit worst for wear, but still – SPRING!  There were too many for one gallery, so bear with me. I posted two. 😀

And…

I hope you’re enjoying your spring, if spring is what you’re having.  If not, I hope this brought a little sunshine into your day.  Please click on the icon below and stop over at Cee’s blog for a look at more of the spring season.

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – LINES

When I think “lines”, I think straight lines.  After debating a while, I decided I would go with “straight” because if I didn’t, I’d be too tempted to annoy you with more of my doodling.   So  here, for the most part, you will find my interpretation of “lines” for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week.

Many thanks to Cee @ ceephotography.com for hosting this posting.  You can see more entries to her challenge by clicking on the cute little critter below.

To all who’ve made their way here, my thanks.   I appreciate all your comments, likes, and visits.  Blogging wouldn’t be the same without you. 🙂

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – CHANGING SEASONS

Living in New Jersey can be a challenge in itself.  From soaring taxes that can rival the heights of Mt. Everest, to blazing hot, humid summers that have you begging for an arctic blast.   But you can’t beat Jersey’s changing  seasons.  Nature at it’s best. Most certainly some of God’s best work.

Thanks for stopping by, liking, commenting, browsing.  I appreciate every click of the mouse, every tap on the keys, every smart phone visit.  I don’t always say so, but the intent is there.  Blogging. Dang!  If only there were 48 hours in the day.

Stop off to see more changing seasons by clicking on the WordPress logo or on any of the links below.

WEEKLY IMAGE OF LIFE – SEASONS AND CHANGES

Every year I say I’m sorry summer’s over.  But truth be told, I love the changing of the seasons.  As I grow older, I prefer the warmth of the sun and the trips to the beach:  sitting, walking, people watching, spotting dolphins, reading in my beach chair, with warm breeze blowing, waves crashing … But truth be told, all seasons are a gift.

“Spring is the time of year when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade.”
Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

It’s all good 🙂

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE – CONTRAST

CONTRAST…I can’t believe it’s March already.  But there it was.  The first week of the month and the daffodils were already showing their sunny faces.  The days have been warm and cold and warm and cold and, well, need I go on.  CA-RAY-ZEE!!  But I’ll take it. It’s been the strangest winter I’ve seen in a long time.  Things are changing, weather-wise,  no?  But there’s  nothing that perks the spirit, at least for me, like the first signs of spring.  The second I spotted these beauties, I had to grab my camera.  Just in case we have a snow storm in the next few days.  The ground, still hard and holding that look of winter, seemed in stark contrast to the bright green of the leaves and the brilliant yellow of the flowers.  Let it snow!  I have seen the first signs of spring and that will hold me over, just in case…
