CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – CHURCHES OR ANY RELIGIOUS BUILDINGS

If you’re ever in the area, Valley Forge, PA is a beautiful place for walking, biking, horseback riding, and taking in some US history.  Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week gives me the opportunity to post a few shots of the Washington Chapel that sits on the grounds. And if the weather ever cooperates, a picnic basket might be in order, Boo Boo. 😉

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – THE FABULOUS SEASON OF WINTER!

We didn’t get hammered by snow this winter like we’ve had in years past.  Sadly however, much of the east coast is getting pummeled by rain and high winds.  I guess we’re lucky that we didn’t get both, but whoa!  I am waterlogged!  Here’s a peek into this winter’s smidge of snow.  Even a little snow can be enchanting.

If you feel so inclined, zoom in on the trees and find the deer.  I didn’t know they were there until after I took the photo.  If you’ve never been to Valley Forge in the winter, you’re missing something beautiful.  And if you haven’t been to Cee’s blog site, you also don’t know what you’re missin’.  Click the icon to see more of winter and Cee’s fabulous fotos.

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE: WHICH WAY – FEATURING ROADS

It always thrills me to see a new challenge pop up in my inbox.  I’m one of those people that needs a nudge and that’s what these things do for me.  Aside from the fact that I get to browse and visit other blogs which gives me the opportunity to live and learn, I get the push I need to get out there and broaden my photographic horizons.   I have a lot of livin’ and a whole lot of learnin’ to do.  Apparently I don’t take too many road pictures, so there’s work to be done.  In the meantime…

OK.  So the road at the shore is missing, but it’s there.  I promise.  Under all the rain that fell not too long ago.  And my husband took that shot.  Also, the last photo of our house, well, I have to give my son credit for that shot.  See what I mean.  Work to be done.

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE – BLACK AND WHITE OR SEPIA TONES

This weekend, Jeff and I took a road trip and ended up in Valley Forge, PA. It had snowed a little the night before (as you may already know) and the countryside was just magnificent. It was a very, VERY cold day. Cold, with a blustery wind that chilled me to the bone each time I hopped out of the car to point and click. I imagine it was a lot like that when Washington’s army hunkered down within the four walls of this cabin, and others like it during the winter of 1777-1778. I don’t think you have to be a history buff to appreciate the courage this must have taken.

Think what it must have been like for Washington’s men, trying to sleep in these cold, hard bunks. How grateful are you tonight?
