Did someone say it had to be an ENTIRE WINDOW?
Last week, Jeff and I purchased two new bikes – our other bikes were claimed by Hurricane Sandy. From some bad luck comes good. We got way better bikes this time, and when we parked them in the garage for safe keeping, this is what we saw.
This beauty emerged right on our garage window – which apparently needs a good paint job. The window, not the moth (I say moth. Jeff says butterfly. – Any takers???)
This isn’t a whole window, but Dawn never said it had to be, so…
Click here, or here, or even here, and see what’s up at Dawn’s Lingering Look at Windows.
Thanks for visiting. I appreciate all the likes, comments, clicks, and all the friendly repartee.
That is the most important of the window!! I say it’s a moth. Or a hamster. Or a kitten. Or a hippo. It’s HUGE!!
Hippo? Hysterical! 😆
He / she is rather flamboyant?
😉
moth or butterfly – anyway good food for a cat!
Ouch!
No idea, Gem, but what a beauty!
Thanks, Jo. 🙂
Nobody ever said it had to be a whole window..no way..rules are for boring people anyway..we would only break them 😉
A moth.
I knew I liked you 🙂
You get butterflies on your garage window!! 🙂
I get stinkbugs on mine. 😦
Everything has its place 😉 you might need it for a post someday. LOL
it is a beauty.. me thinks a moth …M
Well you are my bug experts 😉
Moth it is!
Oops! Jen ‘random acts of writing’ says butterfly. I’m so confused! But her link appears to make sense. If you have a chance check it out. She’s below your comment.
Butterfly! White Admiral or Mourning Cloak, maybe? http://randomactsofwriting.wordpress.com/2012/04/02/harbinger-of-spring-nymphalis-antiopa/
According to that post, I would have to agree.
‘The Mourning Cloak is one of the first butterflies to appear as the days start to lengthen at the end of the winter, usually several weeks before spring, depending on the latitude.’
It all fits :-).
Thanks.
I’m thinking butterfly too but I really can’t tell. That link to Random Acts of Writing does seem to best indicate the species.
I think RAOW nailed it!
